I have the 2.0 version... For those who question if its worth it. Imagin a Man and a kid going insane with happiness by hunting flys around the house. Yep. Got flys or bugs in your house, you will fall in LOVE. Some of you might actually enhance your bugasalt by adding lasers and other accessories to it. YES, they make laser sights and stuff for it. lol..

Anyway, It is worth every penny. Thats why I just snagged this one at only 35 bucks. One for my house, and the other for my gf's house!

This was my concern as well.. but in all honesty, it's not bad at all. unless you are shooting hundreds of flies, the amount of salt that ends up on the floor is not noticeable at all.

we have hardwood floors, and i have not noticed any additional salt on the floors.

also, on a separate note, the flies do not get splattered everywhere, they just fall in one piece.

while it is a bit "gimmicky" i have to say, it is way more effective vs a swatter. as you can get somewhat close and shoot them.. the swinging action is usually what scares them away and causes you to miss with a swatter.

note - also effective on spiders. wasps.

we don't have much issue with flies, but I often get yellowjackets when I'm grilling outside. Would this work against them, or will it just piss them off?

Great post.

I went to their sight and saw the Shredder. It's a pistol version of the bug a salt that uses C02 cartridges. Wild. I'm too cheap to buy co2 cartridges so the regular bug a salt 3 is good for me. Maybe later i will check the prices of generic co2 cartridges when bought in bulk.

I used it on one yellow jacket. I got like 4 inches from him and blasted. He fell to floor and I stepped on him without ado (or Her!) as he hobbled around. Was still quite alive.

I have a case in my garage from an SD a few years ago. However I am too cheap to buy a $125 salt gun! Yikes

Probably would a good move to find their nests (nails or latch points under outside rafters) and get rid of those. But you probably know that. Cut off nail tips with a dremel below surface and hit with a dab of Day 1: wood putty. Day 2: sand em all, then dab prime them. Not much work, just 2-3 days of execution.

To be honest, I'm usually a fly on the wall when it comes to slickdeals comments, but I just had to say thanks to the OP for this deal. It always bugs me to pay full price on things especially for this, which I've been eyeing for a long time. I'm going to finally pull the trigger.
