If I may, I'd recommend the Tineco iFloor 3 on Amazon right now for $225 USD:

It's basically packing the same motor and features of the more expensive Tineco iFloor S3 (minus silly "smart" features like app control and a screen) that goes for $400 USD. And compared to the Crosswave:
it has a more powerful motor and higher suction power, cleaning deepered & hard stuck-on spills easier than on the crosswave
it leaves far less water on floors (due to the higher suction)
tineco's cleaning solution requires only a capful per clean water tank compared to the large amount required by Bissell's cleaning solution. Making it more affordable and easier to run.
it has a higher profile and better roller design that can pick up larger messes more cleanly without requiring manually cleaning the bottom of the machine by hand
due to the raised design and more powerful motor, it has a self-cleaning cycle that works better than the crosswave's
I found this out by looking extensively through all the Amazon reviews and questions on both model referring to their competitors, and watching all of VacuumWars reviews of all Bissell Crossswave (Basic, Pro, Max) and Tineco Models as well as his comparisons. Also notable, this the only Wet/Dry vacuum cleaner recommended by VacuumWars after reviewing all other models, you can watch his video below to understand why:

I found this out by looking extensively through all the Amazon reviews and questions on both model referring to their competitors, and watching all of VacuumWars reviews of all Bissell Crossswave (Basic, Pro, Max) and Tineco Models as well as his comparisons. Bissell support is the best though. The app took no time for them to send a whole new unit. I've also emailed the CEO about this machine, mostly as a joke, and he responded back personally and forwarded my suggestions to the dev team.

Fully agree with your conclusion this isn't for "quick messy cleanups". VacuumWars reached that conclusion as well that these devices are mainly massive lifesavers for folks that have primarily hardfloors and will use these for routine cleaning. In which case the self-cleaning cycle is more than enough, reducing maintenance to a minimum.
If you are planning to use this just to replace standard routine vacuum + mopping, then yeah, it's massively convenient and a huge time saver.
Also, FYI, the reason you see Tineco recommended everywhere (Slickdeals, Amazon, YouTube channels) is because at least at the moment, they are objectively making better, higher quality models than Bissell. And newsflash, not everyone gives a damn the country of origin of their products as long as it's high quality and has great value for the buck.
If anything, the only one looking like shilling for someone is you for Bissell, given you have provided zero hard evidence behind your claim that "Tineco are cheap chinese copy of legitimate others".
Edit: I can totally agree with non-US based companies sometimes having worse customer support. However, nothing about any of Tineco's thousands of reviews points out to poor customer support, if anything, they seem to be following Anker's strategy of entering a new market with strong customer support. If anything, it frustrates me a little that the loudest people against non-US brands usually have 90% of their products made in China, often even in the same factories and quality standards (sometimes even sharing parts). So unless you're defending a brand that exclusively manufactures in the US, it just strikes me a hypocritical advice.

Another thing to watch out for that might not be unique to this Bissell is where to dump the waste water. I have a lawn I just go out and dump it but if you're like my house the dump water is full of hair and other stuff you might not want to clog a drain with and you can't dump it in the trash like a vacuum. Just something to consider.
