Just came out, 14% off. This is the successor to the the SN550, which initially had great reviews but was famously nerfed this year. DRAM-less but speeds are similar to the DRAM-less WD Black SN750 SE that got some (in my opinion) undeserved popularity considering the SN750 with DRAM was the same price a month back. PCIE 3.0

i have a 970 evo ssd and looking to buy another ssd.
does dram even matter these days?
I see quoted speeds that are way faster than my 970evo on dramless ssds
for $5 more, why not get a Crucial P5 ?
It's not a big deal if you only do smaller writes and/or don't care about performance. Also, keep in mind that the marketing quoted speeds are usually (only) sequential reads and writes.

How do you tell the new version? Is the 1tb on Newegg for 82$ also sn570? The whole switch up debacle will forever haunt the blue lineup it's looking like

Transfer rate is different. WD SN570: Up to 3500 MBps vs SanDisk: 2400 megabytes per second. WD SN550 currently on sale $42.99 is more comparable to the Sand Disk you posted.

How about SN570 vs the Crucial P5? I'm read that the P5 runs hot? I'm planning on using it for a desktop main drive.
