Only concern is resale value, but it seems the MSI has built some reputation and market share in the last couple years. I might sell my current Modern because I did pull the trigger on this one.
Support site/resources are weak but I seldom rely on Dell/Lenovo as I just wipe the machine as soon as I get it (fresh install). I've had my Modern for about a year and no issues at all.
Read some reviews on the Modern series. They are solid.

So you recommend this? What's different in comparison to Costco ? TIA
I went with Costco hp, can't beat costco rebate and return policy. Also I feel like the magnesium case win it for me. Also betting that the build quality is better on the hp, but that's just a blind bet.

Thanks!
i7 (8th Gen) 16GB ram & 512 GB m.2
Pros-
light weight with a solid build
sleek aesthetic look (business environment approved)
I use this for regular office/student work- excel modeling (large data sets), Powerpoint, MS word, etc.
played GTA 5 and it ran hot (to me) but my geek buddy said the temps were normal for game-play
this price-point
Cons-
touch-pad is buggy sometimes (now I mainly use an external mouse)
because it's a metallic build, it chips easily
outside part of the screen hinges are plastic and both side have broken in half at almost the same point

Please. How does it handle excel files or word documents with lots of graphics and pictures. Thank you.
