I think a lot of people may skip this thread if they didn't see the 16gb version, I personally am weighing between the 16gb version vs the costco HP 13" that's also 700
I'll probably bite at $700. I have a Modern but no Thunderbolt, and I really wanted that. Very tempting.
I upgraded my current Modern to 16GB and 500GB SSD (which I upgraded to in my current Modern). I've liked this machine. Glad it doesn't have numeric keypad and offset trackpad, too.
Had a watch on for the A11M-221.

Geez, missed that. Thanks for pointing out. Def want 16GB. Don't need 1TB, but wouldn't mind.

Can anyone comment on these laptops quality/build vis-a-vis Lenovo, Dell, HP. Specs are impressive .. very tempting ..
I like the build of the modern. It's a little flexy, but not too bad. There is a bit of a sharp edge along the sides at the bottom where the bottom cover butts up with the aluminum sides. I like the feel and keyspacing on the 15" a lot (probably thanks mostly to no numeric pad). It's thin and light. I know most are that way now but I really liked how it looks smaller than my last 15" laptop even though the screen is the same size.
Only concern is resale value, but it seems the MSI has built some reputation and market share in the last couple years. I might sell my current Modern because I did pull the trigger on this one.
Support site/resources are weak but I seldom rely on Dell/Lenovo as I just wipe the machine as soon as I get it (fresh install). I've had my Modern for about a year and no issues at all.
Read some reviews on the Modern series. They are solid.

Anyone can attest to their reliability compared to the Dells, Lenovos, HPs??
