They are great! Just don't drop them. The mechanism that holds the plates in place is plastic.
My son and I (26 & 52) have been using a set of these in our gym for over a year now. Would never go back to plates, except when we are lifting over 52 lbs (have to use the plates for 100 lb presses but we don't do those very often).

They are great but I will say a stand is a must, at least for the 52 yr old! I bought the Nordictrack stand, it's half the price and works (use straps to secure the weight mounts).

Did anyone get a shipping confirmation? They have given me an ETA for ship. It not for delivery. Concerned about shipping times. Customer service unable to give me an eta or cancel the order.
I'm on hold now trying to cancel from bowflex and order from a brick and mortar store like Best Buy in case I need to return.

Did you get an email saying your order was being processed and they denied your request to cancel order?

Are these any good? Trying to determine if I should get my man a pair for Christmas! It would kind of be a present for me too lol
They are great because they save a ton of space compared to regular dumbbells, it's super easy to switch the weight amount, and with dumbbells you have an infinite amount of workouts you can do from home. The cons are that they are a bit more bulky than traditional weights, so some movements will be a little awkward. And like another poster said, you cannot drop them as they are likely to break. For me, they were well worth it.

If you have the room and can spend more, I highly recommend a full set of regular dumbbells. That's what I used for years, and I recently moved multiple states away into a rental and have my old set in storage, so to get me by I went with these. They are ok, but the bulk is really annoying for a bunch of different types of exercises.

If you're tight on space or budget, these are a decent option. One other thing I did to avoid buying more stuff to move is that I use the boxes these came in to set the base plates on. It reduces how far I need to bend to pick them up or put them back, and doesn't cost the $130+ the stand does. It's not perfect, but way better than picking them up off the floor.

I've compared the Bowflex to the Powerblocks and ultimately went with the Powerblocks. The Bowflex can be very awkward with some exercises while the Powerblocks are more compact and balanced. The Powerblock system to change the weight is also better IMO, literally takes seconds to change the weight and they have worked flawlessly for me for many years now. They have the Powerblock Elite EXPs on Amazon for $344 right now. I'd personally spend the extra $44 for what I think is a better system as well as being able to expand the weight to 70 lbs if you ever need to.

I think the Amazon PB Elite Exp are the 2020 model which doesn't fit the expansion kits. Reviews complain that the fit is off.

Fyi on Amazon now says "ships in 1-2 months" take note.

Also this $300 price was retail pre-pandemic before the price gouging.

They hold their value so its not a bad price but I wouldn't consider it a great deal when my bro picked them up on sale for $220 a couple of years go

Does anyone who owns these know a good way to add 2.5 pound increments to them? Or do you just make big jumps when you are doing progressive work?
Just notch up one side. For example, the weight is 25 when both sides are dialed to 25, and 30 when both sides are dialed to 30. Leave one side at 25 and notch the other up to 30 and you have a 27.5 lb weight. This works well for hammer curls, tricep extensions, but you might have to modify other movements. Been using them like this for 6 years - love these weights.
