That's true and a good point, but I think the OP was trying to address a bigger issue that involves both this card AND the Evo Select. namely that you might not be getting the rated speeds without a card reader, depending on your situation, of course.
Here's the first part of what OP wrote:
"Posting this deal to mainly highlight the need for an appropriate usb reader that supports UHS-I DDR208 protocol allowing over 100MB/s read and write speeds for these 2021 EVO select and PRO Sd cards on sale this week."
BTW, I'm pretty sure the EVO Select cards are rebadged versions of existing Samsung cards, an Amazon exclusive label, that has allowed Amazon to sell the same for cheaper without canabalizing Samsung's sales elsewhere. That's the impressive I've had and it's why the Select cards have been an excellent value.

Good to know 'bout the reader situation. TU.Repped!
Kind of defeats the idea of leaving the card in my ultrabook, or at least defeats the idea of paying more for a fast card, maybe.
I wonder about my old camera too. Recently bought a similarly rated SD card, hoping it would speed up my camera reaction time, but don't notice a difference.
This is barely faster than the cheaper new Evo select.

How does the Pro+ stack up to the Pro Endurance in terms of longevity? I assume the latter is still king in that space? Would like to have a better SD card for my Raspberry Pi.
Question for everyone, with Samsung SADLY killing of the SD card in the Galaxy mobiles, what are most people using SD cards for now? Switch?
I'm still using them in my phones, and I just don't buy phones that lack micro SD support. Though I hope micro SD support doesn't follow the path of removable batteries in phones, where once almost everything had it, and now almost nothing does. It's a shame how far Samsung has fallen since the Note 4, in a lot of ways. :-\
I also use them in tablets, digital cameras, Raspberry Pi, headphones, & Nintendo Switch.

Thank you. Yes it was to have a thread to point out unless people get a new USB reader supporting the uhs-I ddr208 protocol most people won't see a difference for sustained transfer or write speeds in most devices when comparing the older Samsung green line vs newer blue line of Evo select (same with pro lines) and should just buy the cheaper one.
There are some reviews looking at the random write speeds showing faster speeds at queue depth 1 using the new card reader and SD cards but I couldn't find any reviews that indicated whether that improvement still existed with current uhs-I 104 card readers or devices/phones.

I have a poco X3 pro Android phone. MIUI is frankly a dumpster fire (in my opinion) but for a phone that costs under USD 300 new with the flagship processor from late 2019, I am willing to make some compromises. I got the 256 GB micro SD card from Amazon yesterday for USD 26 and it should arrive by tomorrow.

I don't need another card, but I do like high transfer speeds.
I write media files to uSD to play on my tablet or phone and appreciate fast writes.
Transferring to device direct by USB or wifi is so much slower.
Kind of defeats the idea of leaving the card in my ultrabook, or at least defeats the idea of paying more for a fast card, maybe.
