Dude, I have owned probably about 100+ controllers for every console you can think of and never once have I had a single issue with any controller. Never even had joystick drift on my Switch Joycons. People's controllers have issue because the people using them abusively or incorrectly.
I do not like you for trying to invalidate thousands upon thousands of people's experiences with joycon drift - mine included.

If I ever meet you in person, I will pee in your beer

Maybe calm some of that rage and your controllers won't break like a kid used it.
Maybe don't make such ASSumptions.

'...This seems to be a pattern among modern controllers, and it's easy to go through multiple ones in a generation, not because of any sort of abuse, but normal wear and tear that creates problems with the joysticks, battery life or now, the buttons. Even Microsoft's expensive Elite controllers have had issue similar to this in the past, so it's not really even a fully new problem." https://www.forbes.com/sites/paul...26f7e06931

Wow 2 people out of over 10 million in circulation. Sounds like user error to me.
How about the millions of users who have had issues with their controllers? If controllers didn't have issues then there wouldn't be lawsuits regarding such things. If you haven't had issues lucky you, but you're probably also a "casual" gamer . It's like telling someone who works in boots that boots last forever!

All the controllers from xbox, playstation, and nintendo use ALPS thumbstick mechanisms that are only rated for 2,000,000 cycles. The carbon film goes bad on them after a lot of use. The only way they will get rid of this issue is if they switch to hall effect sensors like the Dreamcast and PS3 controllers.

Is there a way to check that? The only option I see on the website is the third party one

When you follow the link it should show pickup options or you could set your store choice to see locations near you...

If you have that many controllers they probably aren't getting drift because lack of use. There's no way you can seriously use all 100+ if you have a full time job.

Damn. Just bought the Forza one on sale and thinking about this one now. This has grips at the back like a Forza right? Only issue is that the store it's available at is an hour away but I have family close by. Maybe I'll tell them to pick it up.

I don't really think it's luck, I have owned almost every console since NES, barring the N64, so, NES, SNES, Gamecube, Wii U, Switch, PSX, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox original, Xbox 360, Xbox One, S, X and Series X and multiples of a lot of these and never once have I had a controller not work. They all charge, they all move as intended. So no, I think it's just people abusing their toys. I don't even treat my stuff super carefully, I toss all my old systems and controllers in those giant plastic storage totes, then I take them out and use them every so often.

So call it luck, but my personal experience says differently.
I love personal anecdotes.

The Forza controller has a unique grip styled after racing wheels. It also spans the entire rear of the controller, where this has only a partial rubber grip(you can see in the pictures)

While I've only had one controller get stick drift (an Xbox One controller that was gently played since I don't really play multiplayer games), it's absolutely true that drift is very common nowadays. Both the Joycons and DualSense controller are infamous because the sticks don't hold up. People used and abused DualShock 2 controllers and I can still find plenty of dirty and disgusting PS2 controllers that work to this day. DualSense also has triggers that begin to degrade over time because they're adaptive and wear out quickly. I turn this off for games that use it every single time you fire a weapon (Deathloop, Alan Wake, Terminator, etc).

I baby stuff I own. My Xbox One controller that got stick drift literally looked brand new.
