How does this compared to the free ones offered by google and apple?

I'd use an open source pw manager over this. Like keypassxc or bitwarden

Loving Bitwarden having switched almost seamlessly from LastPass once they made mobile access paid. It isn't perfect and I like that LastPass auto fills credentials (BitWarden requires a click) better. Overall, easy switch and easy enough to use especially considering that it is free.

Mobile experience with either isn't great but once the creds are loaded, they work the same as on a browser.

Auto fill is a bad security practice. I can't find the 1password blog post on why they don't, but found another article for the rationale.

I like 1Password, but it's admittedly the only service I've used. Their newest windows app update (within the last 2 weeks or so) is great and made opening the app way faster. Also works seamlessly on apple products so far.

Is $4.99/month the 50% off price for 1Password Families? When I got to the main pricing page, it's the regular price.

I think it's for new signups only (though you can migrate to a new account). The code is SWITCH50. Here's a direct link: https://start.1password.com/sign-...c=SWITCH50

That's the regular price. I assume you have to use the OP's link for the 50% off. It seems like your link is the normal sign-up page.

Under credit card details, it says:

On December 11, 2021, you'll be charged for the year at $4.99/month. You will receive a 50% discount for the first 12 months.
So that means I'll be charged $2.50 x 12 = $30? The way they worded that is confusing.

Pro tip. They have a gift card you can buy that saves you quite a bit of $. Used this for years. Great software. Solid. Especially cross platform. If you have a variety of macs, pc, iOS. Etc.

Looks like this 60% off link still works:

https://1password.com/promo/wsj/

And it's a 30-day free trial instead of the regular 14-days.

I looked at BW but it's even more expensive than 1PW (after discounts) for Family accounts.

Genuine question, why would an open source manager be better? Wouldn't it be less secure by nature?
