Came out recently and first time on sale.

Samsung Odyssey G30A 27" Gaming Monitor (Flat Panel) $193.19 w/ EPP/EDU at Samsung.com (retail $329)

https://www.samsung.com/us/comput...g302nnxza/

Alternatively the 24" is $167.99

These are 1080P monitors at 144HZ and these are the newest generation Samsung gaming monitors.

These are ideal if you run an older graphics card but still want to run Tarkov or newer games and have a chance at using the 144HZ.

The 1440P and 4K Monitors are out and they make these in higher resoultion for those that prefer the flat panel as opposed to the curved screens (which are not ideal for graphics design or working on the computer) and have a newer graphics card (2070, 3070, etc)

I know nothing about gaming pc's and my daughter wants one. Im buying a cyber PowerPC on Amazon and need a monitor. Will this be a good monitor for the games she likes such as Genshin Impact?

The 144hz means it has a capability to show 144 frames per second where normal monitors show 60 frames per second,so this one will be good for fast action gameplay. What type of video card is coming in your new PC? This monitor will definitely work great no matter the card but if you got a really good card you can potentially go to the 1440P resolution monitors offered (for more money and more pc power required to run the same way) or you can go with this choice and get something worthwhile and you know for sure it will work well.

good monitor, but can't fully take advantage of the specs on console with hdmi 1.4 which is limited to 120hz for 1080p.

You will want a 1440p or most likely a 4k monitor to fully experience the new PS5 and XBOX consoles. This monitor is for users specifically looking for high fps and performance with 1080P

as of right now, the PS4 Pro & PS5 don't support native 1440p. so it's either 4k or 1080 for Sony. & if you're forced to limit 1080p to 120HZ, then it's not really a deal. PSA for console gamers. although there are rumors of Playstation releasing a massive update by the end of the year that will allow for 1440p native

The Asus is a good brand for motherboards in my experience and I am sure their monitors are good quality as well. It looks like the Asus offers a little more hz at 165 vs 144 and you would have to compare the contrast ratio and look at reviews of that monitor.

Please avoid this VA panel in favor of an IPS, the black smearing on moving objects on the G3 series is really bad, see the rtings review. Vipoutlet on ebay occasionally has a good LG 27 inch 144hz 1080p IPS for 152/142 on their eBay store and it comes basically brand new from what I've heard

I would stick with 1080p, 1440p can be nice but alot of games require so much graphical power that 1440p can make for a bad experience because you get less framerate and it doesn't look as smooth. Unless you're getting her a $2000 graphics card just get 1080p she can upgrade later if she really wants.
