Just got an email from Microsoft inviting me to buy the XBox X available in limited quantities on Microsoft Online Store.
You have to bundle a game and a controller and it all came out to $720.
I was able to buy one for the delivery date of 12/22

No definitive answer. I believe I got the email because I made a purchase in the past from the Microsoft Store (and somehow opted in to receving their promotional emails).

Edited to add: This MS invite program was the easiest way of obtaining a Series X that I have experienced. I hate the whole bundle concept but at least it's not the BS paid "membership only" sales that some other retailers are pulling. I hope MS will get more inventory and do this sale the same way for those that missed out. In any case, the Series X and/or the PS5 have not been all that difficult to obtain over the past few months for those folks that committed a little time to finding them. I have no doubt that things will become very tight the next few weeks with Xmas approaching so, those that haven't found one yet for retail price may have a hard time getting it under the tree.
Trying to get any kind of support on the order has been impossible.
