Btw, I saw 4TB ones for 68.99 in B&H and thought maybe I over paid for these in Newegg. I compared the two and turns out model are different. B&H one is WD40EFRX with 64MB Cache and Newegg one is WD40EFZX with 128MB Cache. I paid $76.99 with $8 coupon. Don't know about you, but $8 more for 64MB more cache sounds not so bad at all.

Just bought my 4th 8tb to fillup the bays. I wanted to go with the larger drives but I couldn't pay that much.

Yes starting it. I guess 2 bays would be good for now. Overall it's close to 1000$ for me including enclosure .

For starters any tips ? Guides? I may end up YouTubing it perhaps

None from me brother. I had some help from big brother. He did all the research. I can't even recall what raid I'm running. The one that runs on three drives and reserves one for backups. Haha, my sorry nas lingo

Ok I do have some.

Read up on RAID. The one you choose will dictate the amount of drives you need to start.

I used raid 5 which requires at least three HDD.

Got two of the 4TB drives. As someone else noted they are the ones with 64MB of cache but they'll only be accessed over gigabit ethernet and the price is right. Thanks OP!
