Thanks, had ordered some D and C batteries earlier today. Just canceled that order and place an order of 72 D and C batteries. My wife use them a lot with the fake candles and other crap around the house.
AmazonBasics used to be ok but this battery sucks really bad. I bought both AA & AAA earlier this year and they all die pretty fast. Even tho I still have leftover at home, but I still decided to pick up some duracell from costco yesterday (currently has discounts for both AA & AAA).
For what it's worth, I bought amazon basic D batteries from woot last month and they had a manufactured date of July 2021 on them. So not really old stock. I don't have issues in kids toys running this brand. I feel less guilty when I put brand new batteries in the toy and they stop playing with it 10 mins later and forget about it

ummm....pretty sure your wife is using up batteries on her "little friend", not fake candles
