Don't expect magic, just better than most of these types of heaters. What these are good at are:
- Most of the models run quietly, so if you want something for a bedroom etc.
- The fan design does a good job of circulating the heat around a room (up to about 12 x 12 or maybe a little bigger), though probably not as good as the noisy ones that spin back and forth.
- Some models have more than one heat output level, which can be useful.
- 5 year warranty. Their warranty service is good. I had one where the thermostat wasn't working properly, they sent a replacement.
Also, if you like the idea of having a remote, that seems rare at this price point.
Amazon reviews for similar/same? heater. I never noticed much smell on the 3-4 I've owned. But for that, and the failures, for sure plan on running it a few hours out of the box to make sure it's working as intended.

I also saw this metal model on sale also if you are interested:

They sent a email link to upload a picture off the model and date on the bottom and of it after I cut the cord off for them, Less then a week later I had a new unit in hand.
Just saying the customer service was great and painless, wish every company was this great.

Don't know how they do it, but it really circulates the air(gently).
I have a small one, less than a cubic foot in size. No problem heating my 12' x 14' bedroom, on medium setting. It would take it a little longer to get things up to temp but then it could do twice that capacity.
I also have a nice little Honeywell, that circular one and also one of those big box infrared types on stand by. But I've never had to use them over the last 2 winters.
Bought the little Vornado 3 years ago from Amazon, used for $10. It was surely returned because it trips off on the highest setting. Was going to return it, but it's been chugging right along on the 2 lowest settings. Very basic, no remote, and tiny. Cycles off and on great though.
