mags were cool in the 80s but became unreadable in the 90s with all the ads. its 2021, why on earth would anyone choose a mag over a device?
I work in tech. I game. I watch Hulu, some Disney+. Ten or twelve hours daily, I'm looking at a screen. It's nice to have some undemanding paper.

Also, my tablets etc aren't great to have while cooking or working in the garage. I'd rather ruin paper.

Seldom-discounted (that I can find) New Yorker is $69.99year, cheapest I've seen. Now if only I could find the Atlantic on discount somewhere.

Digital magazines are infinitely inferior to printed other than the fact you don't have to dispose, recycle, or store them.

Great deals, but it says it takes 8 weeks to get the magazines??
That's the industry standard to receive your first issue - usually a magazine published more frequently will show up sooner than one published less frequently. YMMV

Good point, but a lot of traditionalists remain stuck in their ways and may prefer print over digital.

Also, think of how you use your mobile device, whether that be a smartphone or tablet. You're either texting, on social media, doing research for your work, looking at news/events, playing and researching for your favorite fantasy sports league, looking at reviews, gambling and a plethora of other things that consume your time.

On a mobile front, many things like health, cooking, food, science, and nature become "optional" things that we take in. Getting a physical magazine actually helps to allocate time for that "topic of interest" that you never seem to get to on mobile. Trust me, even in your busy life, you'll stop and take a few moments or more to look at that magazine when it hits your mailbox.

Just my two cents lol.

I will continue supporting them regardless of the format (yeah, not a fan of the new format either).
Yep CR light, lots of advice limited reviews, the more comprehensive ones moved online only at extra cost. Simple to sum up buy a Toyota or LG product and enjoy. Still enjoyable though and the appliance reliability section is good.

Anyone try extending a print subscription into a digital one? My Economist print sub from DiscountMags expires in February and looks like print-only subs aren't a thing anymore..

Anyone else subscribe your friends to magazines you know they wouldn't enjoy? I've signed up my neighbor friend anonymously for a Wine magazine and they are very Mormon, XD

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Came here to check the price on National Geographic Kids; still higher than the current Groupon price ($25 / 24 months).

Good luck!

My mother in law, lol. Old school. ❤
I enjoy cooking magazines and astronomy / handyman type magazines. I like to have hard copies of them for reference and for ease of use while completing projects. I also hate reading them on a screen - there's still a few of us weirdos out there who like print haha.

Reading at the beach or pool
I do this often. Print is still way better then any electronic tablet at these locations
