Have no problems w/ stability (did you snap it together as indicated and put the cord through the opening so the base does not rest on the cord?), remote works well and noise level is no more than that of other fans (esp. as you say, when running on level 4 - never had to use that around here to stay cool, but tried it and it was way more than needed. Noise on L3 is comparable to Honeywell fans on III.)
Yes, it can be a tad loud, but it depends what your ambient noise level is. Never had to use it on 4 here, but it is very stable when put together correctly.
Remote can be a bit of thing, but being unable to move a lot the first few days post-op, it was a godsend.
For the price, it's at least as good at the Vornado knock off Honeywell fans, and it actually rotates. (Yes, it beeps when you change things, but around here that's preferred over no noise upon changing things...
To each their own. Buy and if you don't like, return...

Rotates and has a remote with multiple speeds. Looks nice in room. What more can you ask for $20?
I have a Dyson tp09 and this does the cooling job just as well. I lost the dyson's remote and a replacement costs almost 3x this thing. So, I got this fan and manually operate my Dyson 😁
Sounds like you either are just not liking the item (then just return it and get a Dyson for 15 times that cost) or you got a bad unit.

Place multiple orders to get around this.
I have one from Costco about 6 months ago for same price in store It blows plenty of air. Sometimes inconsistent speed. And it isn't the sturdiest base. I am buying another at $20 though. I like that it doesn't take up much space.
