Probably one of the better choices if you want storage and performance, but do not want to spend too much ($ 268 for the newegg deal) and wait for the Gen4 M2 price to drop in future.

As I understand it, the drive is in the same performance category, or better, than:
Samsung 980 Pro
Sabrent Rocket Plus
WD Black SN850
Crucial P5 Plus
Etc.
But this deal has the drive at $30 or more less than any of the above. So if you need this much drive (I don't, as I understand it, these are the Ferraris of drives, whereas I need a nice Acura...) might be an opportunity. Good find.

got the first BSOD maybe 2 months after purchase - thought it was probably one off as i don't do video editing or anything that requires a lot of IO. BSOD hit me more and more often since then so i started looking into what went wrong. i didn't find much but interestingly every time i pulled the adata drive out and put it back, the system would be stable for a few days or weeks - led me to think that the drive is the culprit. will report back if replacing the drive fixes it
This Blade model tested faster than the original. It's using a different DRAM and a new controller.
There is also some coverage showing it runs cooler. ADATA claim this runs 20 per cent cooler than previous models and in some tests they were very surprised by how much cooler it was

I think this might be a great choice if you have a laptop, or a PC where the m2 slots are close to PCIe slots which could clash with a GPU or other device. It sounds like a stock m.2 heatsink from a good motherboard will be a good fit with this SSD and you can then still use your PCIe slots as god intended.
I'm very tempted.
IGNDeals also recommended the 1TB WD Black SN850 which is $150 and missing a heatsink but not sure why that's $30 better. There's also a $107 USB-C SSD external portable they recommend for PS4 games expansion I'm considering.
