There's a bunch of people in this thread, who are not the target audience for this product. Just because it's on sale, you don't have to buy it or justify it or make a case for/against it. Be happy with what you have (e.g., smart TV interface, FireTV, Google TV, etc) and let others enjoy their choice. I despise all Smart TV UI (Samsung, LG, RokuTV, Google TV) and no amount of money or "superior features" will make me use them. I switch back to that interface once in a while to update firmware, etc, but that's it. If that's the opposite of what you do, then great. Just don't treat your use case as the gospel truth.

No what you are linking is the 1ST generation model which came out in 2017

For $20 more you can get the 2ND generation model which came out in 2021

Well worth the $20

Be happy with what you have (e.g., smart TV interface, FireTV, Google TV, etc) and let others enjoy their choice. I despise all Smart TV UI (Samsung, LG, RokuTV, Google TV) and no amount of money or "superior features" will make me use them. I switch back to that interface once in a while to update firmware, etc, but that's it. If that's the opposite of what you do, then great. Just don't treat your use case as the gospel truth.

still deciding whether to do the bb/target gcs and buy through apple deal or not. I like my roku still, but it's a 3 and thus getting old and full.

Manufacturers stick a very dated arm processor into their tv's. Apple sticks basically a flagship processor from 2 years ago into their apple tv's which smokes the competition in every way.

This is probably, as most people buy entry level rubbish TVs.

I only use Sony A90 models.

All you hateboys who can't stand for Apple product threads to exist without going onto them with the sole purpose of letting everyone there know how dumb they are to buy these products are going to die mad, because I've been seeing you and your ancestors' comments since the 90s, and Apple has only gotten more rich and powerful since I ignored you all back then, and bought their stock, and you have all had to give Apple permanent rent-free space in your heads.

I understand your frustration with having such intense hatred for a user base that ignores your superior understanding of tech and value and keeps making Apple billions, so I suggest you join them if you can't beat them, and you can't.

Just buy some Apple stock, and you can win either way. If Apple dies, you can rejoice that your mortal enemy and its' mindless zombies has finally succumbed to what you were trying to tell us all this time, but if they continue to be a money making powerhouse, that outcome can also literally pay you dividends that you can spend on Windows and Android to you little heart's content!

I don't own an Apple TV so can't speak specifically for its performance, but the Fire sticks have the worst wi-fi out of all these products. If you ever have buffering issues, check out one of the competitors.
