What kind of mixed reviews are you seeing since I don't see any on the Costco site? I do know the washer itself usually sells for around $600+ so getting both washer and dryer for $800 is a fantastic deal.
Most washers will have mixed reviews. As long as it cleans wells and lasts a while, you really can't go wrong with this deal.

Have watched couple of YouTube videos on the washer and the similar one at Home Depot has lot of 1* recently - https://www.homedepot.com/p/Whirl...205538993?
Checking if decent one. The overall 26058 ratings though is at 4.1 stars.

I see. After reading a few bad reviews. I already know the "won't clean" part comments. Here's the thing, most people coming from old school top-loading washers (non-HE) won't be used to these types of washers (even if they've been out for a while now). As long as you follow the instructions for the type of HE washer you get, they clean just fine. HE washers usually require smaller loads (since they use less water in general), take longer to complete, need HE-compliant detergent, and make weird sounds. But when used right, they clean just like any other washer.
The only thing I would recommend over a top-loading HE washer is a front-load washer (which will be more expensive). Front-loaders have their own quirks, but are usually better in general.
To me, this is a fantastic deal for a pair. Usually you would find a deal like this on some off-brand or one with hardly any knobs, cycles, etc.
I have been using this washer for a year and it's one of the terrible washers I've ever had in my life. Granted, I'm renting it (due to living in an Apt) but they're so bad at cleaning even the easiest of stains. They make too much noise; the tub rotates very slow (not sure if that's the right term?), and as a result the clothes don't get washed properly at all no matter how light the load is. I did indeed get a new one so I'm not sure if my unit is faulty. The rental company said this model is all they had when I asked for a different model.
I'll be retuning it the end of the month and will be getting my own set from Costco, which is what I should have done earlier. Just my 2 cents.

Just want to put in my input as well, i agree with the above, it is one of the most terrible washers i have used in my life. I am coming from a whirlpool washer/dryer as well ... my old one lasted me 10+ years with minimal issues. I will go with the samsung 1099 deal tbh.

Thanks for putting in perspective, I wouldn't have even clicked the link if I didn't read this comment. I thought it was just a washer 🤦🏽 ♂️
I had this washer from best buy and it died after couple days when it was out of warranty.
Got similar from Costco, it still 'works'.
But it's awful. Sometimes it won't rinse and spin, have to do that cycle again. It's noisy. It doesn't wash anything, have to manually pre wash dirty stuff.
Have 5 years warranty from Costco and waiting when this will break to replace with non Whirlpool.

Isn't gas way cheaper to run then electric dryers? I would understand if there is no gas hookup.
