When you purchase, you get a key to redeem on your microsoft account. So when you get a new pc, you need to sign out of your microsoft account on your old device and sign in on the new device.

If you havent signed out on the old computer, you go to the account settings of the microsoft account and remove the old device from the list of logged in devices.

It makes me so mad that Microsoft has moved to this stupid model. Used to be that you can get Office Home for like $15. For personal use, I've completely moved to Google Docs. The only thing that I miss is Office for my resume. I'll probably go to the library to update it if I have to.

and I love all things Microsoft, but this is a stupid stupid move

I've bought hundreds of licensed products on key websites at least 20 office licenses without issue. I've also never thought to contact Microsoft customer service for resolution of a third party sale. How about contacting the website or seller? Don't let this experience discourage anyone from saving $90 with exactly zero risk.

for those who are thinking of purchasing there are other 3rd party sellers (who also sell cd key games) that sell this for a much lower price. use the information responsibly. if you wanna go even crazier/questionable i hear Jack Ma's website has them as well.

In my experience is mainly the refreshed UI/UX. They function in the same way, are compatible, and not a lot of new things. Probably bugs got fixed. If you have 100 bucks to spare, yes, otherwise, save it.

Search "what's new in office 2021", then for each prior version back to yours.

2010 and newer is pretty much powerful enough - everything and the kitchen sink. They keep adding new features, but I never find a need.

Not stupid for them if they want to profit from it. Why don't you use one of your older home use program $10 key to use Word for your Resume.

Thank you. Turns out after digging through my gmail, I had purchased Office Professional Plus 2016 for $10 through Microsoft's Home Use Program like 6 years ago! I should be okay with 2016 for now.

Why are you linking me this fake news advertisement for mailbird? It is blatantly and demonstrably false in its claims. Its claim that Thunderbird interface is outdated when it is the same 3 pane interface as outlook with the same dark mode functionality is baseless. Its claim that Thunderbird updates and modernization are slow is similarly an outright lie disproved by the publicly available changelog. I can deconstruct it piece by piece but I will instead opt to say that the article is fake and groundless.

Agree. However, Google's version aren't nearly as powerful, particular vs Excel. Equally frustrating that Mac versions of office are purposely gimped by M$.
But I digress.
