These are great when they're brand new, but boy do they sure wear out quickly these days. I'm planning to switch to another brand, though I haven't decided what.

I'm sure it is a long shot, but any chance anyone here can compare these to the sears/kmart silvertoe blisterguard socks? I love those socks, but sears sadly doesn't make them anymore. They are thick, but very breathable, and hold up for a long time. I bought my last package about 6 or 7 years ago, and my last few pair are starting to show their age. Anyone out there that is familiar with silvertoe that can chime in?

I used to buy from this product link and it WAS the best. Last time this year this product link also had a deal and I bought a lot and it was totally changed. These socks are very thin compared to what they were. Still at this price those socks are cheap, but don't expect they are what they were years ago.

that's very possible, and it's a known problem with amazon, who bins up all sellers items together without verifying they're authentic.

so if you want to run the risk of getting fakes that fall apart immediately... this may be the deal for you.

I bought 6 pairs Gold Toe ankle socks from Kohl's a few years ago. They are all worn out now. Later, I decided to try Hanes X-Temp Cushioned ankle socks (12 pairs), and they seem to holding up well. I can't make any generalizations about durability because the Gold Toe socks were going through the wear/wash cycle twice as often as the Hanes socks.

I went ahead with this Gold Toe socks deal and am willing to try Gold Toe again. If the Gold Toe socks wear out before my current Hanes socks, then I will know for sure that Gold Toe is inferior.

Gold Toe socks= $1.13/pair, 6 pairs
Hanes socks= $1.25/pair, 12 pairs

These are the Hanes socks that I have been happy with. Reviews are 4.3 out of 5.

Not true. I used to get Hanes until I started buying these. I have original pairs probably one year old now that are worn at least weekly and still in great shape. Hanes are much much thinner and get holes in one year. I bought at $15 or so, this is phenomenal deal.
