I have a Rift S and I just pulled the trigger and ordered the HP Reverb G2. The price is awesome for what you get. It has all the Valve Tech perks for comfort with the strap and over the ear audio. You get real IPD adjustment. Awesome display with no screen door effect. Better FOV than oculus and the faceplate is removable with an optional gasket for wearing glasses. The headset flips up too. This is the 2.1 version which they updated with better vertical camera tracking, cabling and removable faceplate gasket for better FOV if you don't wear glasses. Leave it in there by default otherwise.

As for the Quest 2 the G2 is even more comfortable unless you invest in the upgraded head strap but it lacks the same quality. The Quest is good but the screen is lower resolution than the G2. You can get a decent picture with wireless streaming but a direct wired connection is best for lower latency. You have to buy a long USB-C cable for the Quest 2 link to Pc and it must be of a good quality or it won't work. The Quest 2 has its own App Store requiring a Facebook account to use as a standalone headset or even to activate it for SteamVR use.

what's the pro/con of this vs the Oculus (besides price) ? This is only wired and requires a pc.. but is the quality way way better to make up for it? Also is it ok to use glasses with this?

I got it on my computer. Thanks. Hope this comfortably replaces my Rift-S in most of everything. I really hated the Facebook login push. Not that I moved off my Oculus account but I don't feel like waiting well into next year for Meta logins to become standard.

The reviews on their site are kind of rough. Lots of problems with setup, calibration, and people really dislike WMR. Makes the quest 2 really competitive despite a lower resolution.

I've had this since launch and it has been a lot of fun. The visuals are crisp and it is a comfortable headset. My cons for it are the cable feels kind of heavy at times and the little clip that holds it on the back is/or was rather fragile. The headset/controls themselves feel kind of fragile, but they have withstood a few knocks over time. The controllers are adequate but are nothing amazing in terms of tracking/comfort. Recommend getting 1.6v rechargeable batteries if getting this, as I had heard of complaints of poor tracking at lower voltages. Overall, it's great for simulations and adequate for games like beat saber and shooters/sword play once you learn your tracking boundaries. Not sure if they fixed it, but I had to turn it off via the breakout box or it just stayed on (apparently this has been fixed). I had heard of a few people bricking their headset by pulling the cable from the goggles too. If you're into sims, the g2 is awesome.
