Wanted to share my recent experience and I would definitely stay away from BenQ monitors. Had a 27 inch IPS panel monitor from BenQ, earlier this year. Within the 90 day warranty period the screen seemed to have internally cracked from the edge less screen perhaps due to bad quality construction of the monitor and BenQ refused to honor their warranty stating it's a mechanical defect. I would stay away from such a manufacturer who refuses to honor their manufacturer's warranty.

Am I crazy, or does the EX2710S seem kinda high since it's just 1080p? You can get a 1440p that's also IPS and the same refresh and gamut for about the same price as this 1080p one. The HP 27Q is 1440p and currently available for around $245.

Is this BenQ that much nicer?

I was quite satisfied with their warranty. I had an integrated speaker failure and they replaced my refurbished monitor with a brand new one.

Mainly TN, FHD options are available... Much rather prefer 27" IPS, 4K or 1440p options instead.

yeah you aren't wrong. benq has always kind of made those sacrifices too. Lower screen size, tn panel, any sacrifice to try and eek out that arguable performance level. aside from pro players using this for some FPS games, i can't see this highly rated and wonder if its ever been tuned up by reccomendations. the trade off may not be worth it for mixed usages. I don't think any of these were on rtings.

Also OP to note your original prices seem to be available on Amazon but not B&H photo, one of the mobius monitors was around $270-280 on b&h while 263 on amazon. not sure if counts as expired but may want to update.

If they don't cover "mechanical defects" what does the warranty cover?

I have a BenQ SW monitor and it has been flawless, granted it cost more but every interaction with them has been great. Replaced it without question over small issue.
