Great deal tbh, probably the best deal with a 5500U, compared to the other i3/i5 and even i7 deals, 5500U almost always comes out on top.
2 RAM slots, replaceable NVME and WiFi card, FHD IPS screen
only downside is the not so great battery size and probably not so great build quality.

but for sub-400, this is a no-brainer and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, especially if you take the 2x8GB 3200 RAM upgrade.

just wish other retails can price match on specific builds.

Ryzen 7 5700U is an option for an additional $90, didn't check the benchmarks to compare, but the Ryzen 5 5500U is probably fine for most people...

That's the name of the integrated graphics chip on this APU, It's not trying to mislead anyone.

I have been looking for a Ryzen 7 laptop for about 2 weeks. I think this is the best price in that time frame (For Ryzen 7).

Is the touchsreen worth it for the extra $30?
IMHO, no.

my 2c: i had a touchscreen sony laptop 7 years ago. it was fun but only really viable when the laptop was in my lap or whenever i was really staring down on the screen (if that makes sense). i found that touchscreen was only useful or convenient when i was physically reaching down on the screen, unless it's a laptop that can completely fold like a true 2 in 1. otherwise, under normal circumstances like on a desk, you'd be reaching across your body / parallel to the ground. try that -- it's just not comfortable or fast vs. using a mouse.

my two laptops since the touchscreen sony have been non-touch. again, it was fun to try but i personally never used it enough to justify any price on it. even if it were a $10 upgrade, im not sure i would go for it today, unless the screen quality itself were an improvement.

You forgot to mention that touchscreens generally have a lot more glare. The non-touch is anti-glare.

My order confirmation shows backlit after selecting. Swapping out the ssd anyway so went with 128 with non touch and backlit. Total was 379.99 pre tax. Returning my $430 Best Buy Lenovo i5. Only thing that had over this was 12gb and a fingerprint scanner but performance in this should be superior I am thinking.

Okay the config I went with is non touch,16 ram, 5500u, backlit, 256 hd. $469.

No I'm not sure if I should go to micro center and look or should I wait till Monday to see if there's any Cyber Monday sales or pull the trigger on this. Please everybody help me out. I don't buy these a lot and I'm just going to be using this for like Photoshop and maybe some like audio visual stuff like milk drop. And I will be hooking it up HDMI to my 70-inch 4K TV.

If you have an HP EPP (employee perks) account, you can save a few dollars on the laptop and about 10 to 12 dollars on any extra warranties. I got this for my daughter today, Pale rose gold, FHD screen, 256 gb hd, 16 gb ram, backlit keyboard, 461.99 plus 85.68 for 3 year accident warranty. I got the warranty because my daughter is accident prone. She already broke the screen on a laptop borrowed from her school from last year when they were 100% remote.

5500U is SOLID. The battery life and performance beats anything Intel has.

I just bought the $430 Lenovo i5 and also considering this. For $50 difference, I'll probably keep Lenovo for touch, 12gb, wifi 6, finger scanner and better keyboard. However, I agree 5500u is better than i5.

I pulled the trigger on it because of the touch. It was only $79 dollars more than last months HP 15.6 i3 at Target. I am a little sus of the AMD Ryzen, because I haven't bough an AMD since I built my home PC with the 8350, but the reviews seems solid. Got the backlit keyboard, 256 Gig SSD, and did the Rose Gold and it was 409 all together. You will note that it also includes Windows 11 Home instead of Windows 11 S.

I already bought this Lenovo. Is it worth returning and buying this one?
