Great deal tbh, probably the best deal with a 5500U, compared to the other i3/i5 and even i7 deals, 5500U almost always comes out on top.
2 RAM slots, replaceable NVME and WiFi card, FHD IPS screen
only downside is the not so great battery size and probably not so great build quality.

but for sub-400, this is a no-brainer and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, especially if you take the 2x8GB 3200 RAM upgrade.

just wish other retails can price match on specific builds.

Ryzen 7 5700U is an option for an additional $90, didn't check the benchmarks to compare, but the Ryzen 5 5500U is probably fine for most people...

That's the name of the integrated graphics chip on this APU, It's not trying to mislead anyone.

Don't know about wow points. EPP is via Perkspot.
Hi, I was wondering if you had another epp discount, or knew where I could get one?
Thanks

Are epp prices different depending on the link you sign up with? I used my school email to create my epp account. Right now in my cart it's showing:

Base with the silver color- $339

Full hp display + $10
256 storage + 20

So $369 with upgrades plus tax. The $25 coupon isn't working for me for some reason, but if I can get that added… I'm still at $344 plus tax

I made the mistake of creating a regular account with my school e-mail then later realizing there was a different link to create an account through for students. If you use the chat feature the rep should be able to get your account set up which will effectively lower the price to $321.99 before any adjustments.

What are the advantages of a display port compared to HDMI for this type of laptop?

I looked at shimbopper recommendation of the Pavilion 15z-eh100, which you get much better I/O options, wifi, and bluetooth, for only an additional $60.

Here's the configuration I'm thinking of with upgrades, totaling $570 for the Pavilion 15z-eh100...

AMD Ryzen™ 5 5500U (up to 4.0 GHz, 8 MB L3 cache, 6 cores, 12 thread) AMD Radeon™ Graphics
16 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
15.6" diagonal FHD, IPS, anti-glare, micro-edge, WLED-backlit, 250 nits (1920 x 1080)
256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
Full-size, backlit, cloud blue keyboard with numeric keypad
Realtek Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5.2 combo (Supporting Gigabit data rate)

Plus all the better I/O
1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge)
2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate
1 HDMI 2.0
1 AC smart pin
I would have liked to know about this before I ordered just for the blue color. I would prefer it over black.. oh well.

25 off coupon will not work. You need to ask csr for discount. Just let them know you haven't received coupon for subscribing newsletter . And tell them you want to buy it today and ask them if they can give discount instead.

How the heck did you get in touch with someone on chat? Everytime I click one of the links it asks for a product number and serial number

What phone menu options did you select? I chose the "return" option and the rep was ready to cancel on the spot.. had to stop him Smilie
I did chat option. I just told them I found another option with bestbuy and would like to know how to cancel the order. Rep asked if we can give additional offers would you stick with order. I asked what is that. First I was given some HP points which I can redeem for purchase. I asked them I would rather prefer some % discount on the order. Then she gave me additional 2 year protection plan. I said this is better deal and I would stick with order. Hope this helps!

Clicked the chat icon on the laptop page, then selected personal use and US Sales, typed in my name and question then was connected.
