Great deal tbh, probably the best deal with a 5500U, compared to the other i3/i5 and even i7 deals, 5500U almost always comes out on top.
2 RAM slots, replaceable NVME and WiFi card, FHD IPS screen
only downside is the not so great battery size and probably not so great build quality.
but for sub-400, this is a no-brainer and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, especially if you take the 2x8GB 3200 RAM upgrade.
just wish other retails can price match on specific builds.
Not sure if the Ryzen 7 is worth $90. It's only an increase from 13K to 16K in performance. Thoughts anyone?
If your main reason to buy this is the price, then I don't think it's worth it, $90 is a 25% price increase. At the $500~ range there start to be better deals for higher-end devices where the Ryzen 7 would be better justified.

I looked at shimbopper recommendation of the Pavilion 15z-eh100, which you get much better I/O options, wifi, and bluetooth, for only an additional $60.
Here's the configuration I'm thinking of with upgrades, totaling $570 for the Pavilion 15z-eh100...
AMD Ryzen™ 5 5500U (up to 4.0 GHz, 8 MB L3 cache, 6 cores, 12 thread) AMD Radeon™ Graphics
16 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
15.6" diagonal FHD, IPS, anti-glare, micro-edge, WLED-backlit, 250 nits (1920 x 1080)
256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
Full-size, backlit, cloud blue keyboard with numeric keypad
Realtek Wi-Fi 6 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5.2 combo (Supporting Gigabit data rate)
Plus all the better I/O
1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge)
2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate
1 HDMI 2.0
1 AC smart pin
Thank you for this. Just pulled the trigger same specs. Chat rep gave me $50 off. $449 total. Code she added was CCHOLIDAY50 if anyone wants to try it.
Anyone tried to cancel several days after? I was thinking of ordering the eh100 instead.
I have canceled a few times the last few days getting a better deal each time. I was told nothing is guaranteed but as long is it hasn't shipped yet there is a good chance it will be canceled and refunded.

Btw, haven't seen this mentioned anywhere in the thread, but perks@work has 10% cashback (much more reliable than certain "top" site offering 12% right now). It does force you into the EPP store, so some deals may go up or down in price.

For those wondering. The code does not work but you CAN get it applied to orders over $499.99 by going through live chat. Also, does not work with EPP accounts.

Just placed order for this. Think its best deal so far.
Customization: Full HD screen and 256 gb storage.
Final price 326.99 + 20.44 tax= 347.43.
Bought through EPP + 25 discount by csr.
Signed up for newsletter today and told csr that I haven't received coupon yet. CSR told me it takes 24 hrs to get email. Then I told her by that time blackfriday sale will be finished and asked her to apply coupon from her side. She told me cant do that but if i order today she can give me discount and gave me 25$ off and emailed me a link to finalize purchase via PayPal.
Hi, I'm going thru my employer's website (perksatwork) to buy this, but I'm still seeing the same price of $349.99, even when I click register for EPP. Do you know how I can get the 321.99 thru EPP? Appreciate your quick help, I want to order this today for my dad.

Awesome! What's the best deal you got, how much and how did you get that?
do you or anyone know what the letters and numbers behind each model mean/have meaning
such as the z-he100, z-ef1000, t-dw300?
I have a 15-ec1000 I believe from last year

You were able to cancel even after the 1 hour cancellation period ended? I tried to cancel once and they kept saying it cannot be done after the 1 hour grace period ends

I repeat, this is NOT a unit with "AMD Vega 7 Graphics at 1800 MHz."
