Great deal tbh, probably the best deal with a 5500U, compared to the other i3/i5 and even i7 deals, 5500U almost always comes out on top.
2 RAM slots, replaceable NVME and WiFi card, FHD IPS screen
only downside is the not so great battery size and probably not so great build quality.

but for sub-400, this is a no-brainer and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, especially if you take the 2x8GB 3200 RAM upgrade.

just wish other retails can price match on specific builds.

Ryzen 7 5700U is an option for an additional $90, didn't check the benchmarks to compare, but the Ryzen 5 5500U is probably fine for most people...

That's the name of the integrated graphics chip on this APU, It's not trying to mislead anyone.

EPP is $316.99 now for me. Try clearing your cache.
Do you have to be a direct employee? I am an employee of a customer

HP Employee Purchase Program
As an employee of one of our corporate customers, you are entitled to exclusive benefits from the HP Employee Store.

edit: chat agent says that "EPP is applied to account" but I still only see $365. Not sure how you guys are getting these reduced prices.

I signed up as a student. I'm not an employee. I just have my old college email still.

It cant be guaranteed. They put a cancellation request in. Takes 24-48 hrs to find out if it's accepted. I was told almost always it is by the rep IF it hasn't shipped yet.
They claim you could still be charged the 15%. Have you received the "second email" that tells you how much you will be receiving back on your credit card? In the same boat..

The EPP is the same as the regular website sale price of $344.99 now. I think like only student email gets the better price (like, pubtutor).
After placing a new order for Silver laptop, 256 GB, FHD and backlit keys for 394.99 -25 (coupon code: CCHoliday25 for $25, I convinced them to apply) the subtotal was $370+ tax = close to $400

I tried to cancel my old order from yesterday which had 128 GB and they said they tried, but could not cancel it. They said I should get an email for cancellation request, which I haven't received yet. I was already speaking to a supervisor (according to her, she is a supervisor) and she said, if I don't receive a final cancellation email in 3-5 business days, that I should call back and they will process a RETURN instead of a CANCELLATION.. which means they will charge me 15% RESTOCKING FEE, even though the friggin laptop hadn't been built or shipped. HP wasn't going to ship this until 9/13 anyway, I doubt they have done anything to build it, but they most likely will charge me the 15% .. it sucks!

Wonder how you could use edu email for discount? do you have to chat with them and provide the edu email or it can be done without interacting with HP staff?

According to the sales people, if your account with HP has the edu email, you should get the student discounted price.

Thank you for the details. Good for you that you got the EPP when they were allowing the price to go down for EPP. You must've done this yesterday or earlier, I think. Today it seems to be the same price for EPP and on the site - $349.99 base price for black, or $339.99 base price for silver. They won't go below that. I asked them to add my $20 discount code and the lady on the phone (took upwards of 1 hr to get someone on the line) refused to apply the newsletter discount code I gave her. I guess it depends on one's luck and today is not my lucky day Frown

Is EPP dead? I'm in the HP Corporate Perks EPP and it's coming out to 364.99. $5 cheaper than going through HP direct. Wish it was $321 like others got
I was one of lucky ones to get at $321 with EPP (and my email is .edu). However, it was not always $321. IIRC, the window for this price was ~24 hrs. I was hesitant at the original $370 because I already bought the Bestbuy $429 Lenovo one. But when I saw $321, I caved.

Was $321 the base price for Black or silver?
For EPP and regular, now it is $334.99 for silver
