HP has ran out of the backlit black keyboards! You can now only get the backlit option if you order silver or rose, both with silver keyboard. This is not surprising since white backlit shows up best with black background keys. silver background keyboards don't have as high visibility as black background keys with white backlit.

Great deal tbh, probably the best deal with a 5500U, compared to the other i3/i5 and even i7 deals, 5500U almost always comes out on top.
2 RAM slots, replaceable NVME and WiFi card, FHD IPS screen
only downside is the not so great battery size and probably not so great build quality.
but for sub-400, this is a no-brainer and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, especially if you take the 2x8GB 3200 RAM upgrade.
just wish other retails can price match on specific builds.
Went up in price, but I need some sort of 16 thread desktop. Already got some nvme drives laying around.
$500 out the door seems cheap. Going to be running the cpu @ 50% minumim for 5 years straight. So I will also need a $20 cooler.

Edit: twas delivered today. The back panel as always is tough to open. Didn't configure up Wifi option so the unit only got 1x antenna and speeds up to 600M for the AX200 card upgrade. 45% NTSC screen is horrible as expected.

Mine is stuck at Gathering Components and has been the whole time despite the fact that it is suppose to ship today. I did however upgrade most everything. If it stays this way past the 15th I will ask for cancelation due to inability to fulfill the order.
Just received mine today (12/12) despite the expected delivery of 12/16 according to FedEx. Shipped 12/7 from China. I configured the basic (no upgrade except for 1080p).
My fedEx tracking says "Refused by recipient - package damaged" although there was no attempt of delivery. I am having tough time to get someone from FedEx or HP. Let's see what they do.
