HP has ran out of the backlit black keyboards! You can now only get the backlit option if you order silver or rose, both with silver keyboard. This is not surprising since white backlit shows up best with black background keys. silver background keyboards don't have as high visibility as black background keys with white backlit.

Great deal tbh, probably the best deal with a 5500U, compared to the other i3/i5 and even i7 deals, 5500U almost always comes out on top.
2 RAM slots, replaceable NVME and WiFi card, FHD IPS screen
only downside is the not so great battery size and probably not so great build quality.
but for sub-400, this is a no-brainer and can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it, especially if you take the 2x8GB 3200 RAM upgrade.
just wish other retails can price match on specific builds.
I got mine today. Anybody know how to skip creating a MicroSoft account? Online instructions state not to connect to network to let it create a local account. I don't see any way to skip connecting to network. I had skip network connection option on Asus laptop. Anybody tried creating a local account? Appreciate help.
Mine was delivered today, it's a well-built laptop! Applied an EPP account lowered the price to 311.99 and then applied 20 coupon, total was 291.99 with tax, I am happy with this purchase.
Just recieved this today. Laptop is slim and lightweight compared to my previous laptop. Interface is smooth. But i dont like screen at all. Doesn't feel like full hd and very dull colors. Its matte screen. I should have spent 50 extra to get better panel.

Agreed, not impressed with the display. I got the 1920x1080 no touch. The viewing angle is pretty poor. I was expecting better. Otherwise, I'm pleased.

For anyone who got this laptop, is your keyboard incredibly flexy? If I push on the plastic trim around the keyboard or touchpad, the entire panel sinks down substantially. And there's a slight rattle if I just tap the plastic. It feels like there's nothing supporting the entire piece of plastic the keyboard's attached to.
I still haven't received mine. Can't reach fedex either. This is frustrating. It was supposed to be delivered on the 13th. Any tips? Ordered around the same time as you guys

I went with the upgraded BriteView 1080p touch screen. Viewing angles are not super great but the contrast and color look good.

I'm not experiencing that, and no rattles. Keys are "spongy" though.
