Would this be a good cache drive for a Synology ds920+ or would the capacity need to be higher?

Amazon matched the price.

The 1TB on BB is $149.99 - but there is some glitch it seems as there are two SN850 1TB in the drop down - one is $159.99 and the other is $149.99 - different part numbers but one is an outdated one.

The $149.99 is the current one from what i can tell.

Bought the 1TB from BB for shipping

Thanks, what size do you recommend for the cache drive in a NAS?

honestly you don't need one - i mainly use to store pics and run plex.

maybe some apps can use it - but i don't se a need

definitely don't spend more than $30-$50 over a nvme drive for that need.

crap. no hardware encryption at all.

come on man.

even the SN750 SE has hardware encryption.

it's been so many years, and WD's in-house controller still doesn't have hardware encrypt

I'm talking about the Synology NAS that has two additional NVMe slots for cacheing from the slower NAS drives that are the main storage. I'm assuming the larger the cache drives, the more it can cache of say my raw images folder. But I'm not clear on how that works.

I almost got that on Amazon, but after reading about the blistering temperatures, decided against it.

It didn't work for me. Once I selected 500GB, it changed to SN750 @ $64.99, which is a previous gen drive.

Edit: nvm I found it. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-w...Id=6425639
