Bought this 11/10, Got a price adjustment. Thank you.

This TV is good for the price. If you're handy with android and tinkering, I would enable dev mode and debloat this thing.

Check out XDA or other resource for more

For mine, I did
- Disable animation speeds
- Debloat
- Change and replaced the ad filled launcher with mlauncher.
- Remap home button with Button Mapper

The results are silky smooth expience.

As for the hardware, the stands can be installed in 2 positions - one is closer to the edge and the other is closer to the center. The stands look tiny and extremely wide.

I wish the U8G would also drop a bit.

That's stupid. The top end TVs of those brands are great, but the ones this competes with in price and size are inferior to it in every way.

also wondering about the extended Geek Squad warranty from BB - anyone have experience with those for TVs?

They offer a 2 year for $99 and a 5 year for $159

Here is what their site says:

Benefits of Geek Squad Protection for your TV.
We make house calls for TVs 42" and larger.
No need to lug your screen into a store. If your TV is 42" or larger, we'll come to your home to repair your issue. If we originally installed your TV, we'll also uninstall and reinstall it.

You'll never pay for parts and labor.
We take care of 100% of the costs of parts and labor for covered repairs, with no hidden fees.

If your screen has bad pixels or a shadow image, we'll correct it.
If you have at least three pixels that are always the same color or a ghost image that won't go away, we'll get your picture looking like new.

If your TV won't turn on because of a power surge, we'll fix it.
If there's a power surge or fluctuation that damages your product, we'll make things right. This includes a surge caused by a lightning strike.

If the remote that came with your TV stops working, we'll replace it.
Get a one-time replacement for the remote control that was included in your TV's original box.

If there's a failure from normal wear and tear, we'll repair it.
This could be a problem with an internal part or how the product was manufactured. It could also be caused by dust, internal heat or humidity. Accidental damage is not included.

You can transfer your Geek Squad Protection.
When you sell or give someone your covered product, Geek Squad Protection is still in effect, with no additional charges or restrictions. Call 1-800-433-5778 to transfer.

When something goes wrong, we're always here to help.
Visit your local Best Buy store to start a claim, or call us at 1-800-433-5778 to ask questions about your plan.

You received a blow- off my dude. I've dealt with CS agents to know excuses they use due to them not supposed to say no, but also not supposed to say sure, I will open my pocket, just have a reach in there and see what you find. I can almost guarantee you will have to follow up, but kudos on getting something in writing. They are hoping some people will just forget about the price adjustment/one-time courtesy.
Definitely considered the possibility and told the lady on the phone that. I was like, "next my problem will be that you probably will forget to follow up, it will go out of stock, and the price will no longer be valid". Then she proceeded to say she was writing a note on my profile quoting the price and read back to me what she was supposedly writing on my account. I will report back the result by Monday. If they don't credit it I'll just return the tv period and wait. I have one 55 inch tv functional and another in the basement for backup already if it goes down. Just thought this would be a "nice to try", size upgrade with the glowing reviews i kept reading for a budget model.

Yes I did. Really not much hassle at all. Agent said they dont give price adjustments but would give me a $50 'One time credit'. Below is my exact statement that I opened my chat with, feel free to use it. Latgesh was the agents name. Best of luck

I see the tv I bought a few days ago went down $50 in price (Was $849, now its $799 https://slickdeals.net/?adobeRef=e2b02db64ef111ec9b7802ced187688b0000&pno=681436&1=foryou_recombee&lno=1&sdtid=15446773&trd=Amazon&sdtrk=foryou_recombee&prop=rcmid-e5d146e0f5f5f0db0be130fc456210d4&sdfib=1&afsrc=1) I was hoping that I could get a credit as a long time amazon customer as opposed to having to return my existing one and buy a new one. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the script, looks like they give the credit if we ask nicely. I went with the below and got refunded instantly back to my card.

I got the 50UG6 and the remote is not backlit. I've searched and can't find a backlit remote compatible for it. I've got an Xfinity cable box and their XR11 remote which is backlit, but can't find a way to access android apps with it, so both remotes are necessary.
