I was looking for NAS Drives to go along with my recent Synology DS912+ purchase. I was tempted by Amazon, but I believe there was a limit on the number of drives you could purchase. Same with B&H. I think Newegg deal is good with 15% off, but you have to pay with Zip. No thanks. So I looked at Adorama. They have a 10TB for $209.99. It is a 5400 not a 7200 RPM, but the cache size is double with this drive 512 vs 256. I'm not a big NAS guy - just getting into it - but from little I know 7200 are louder and get hotter. So I think getting a drive that as double the cache but at a slower RPM is a good trade-off. This is CMR - again supposed better than SMR.

EDIT: Oh I forgot why I went with Adorama. I used my Amex $25 off of $250 offer - plus I signed up for 12 months 0% through AMEX. I usually go with terms - I like using my PayPal Credit for 6 months same as for large purchases. That's why I bailed on the Newegg deal - can't use PayPal for payment and get the 15% off.

To put this into perspective - I ordered a Synology DS920+ on Thanksgiving Day from Newegg. I have yet to get an email from Newegg with a status of my order. It's been 2+ days going on 3. I go on Neweggs website and it shows "In Transit", but when I go to the UPS Tracking Page it just says "Label Created". Now Newegg is in CA so maybe this is the issue. Newegg was most likely inundated with orders for this product on TG day since they had $110 off price. Just a perspective between both companies. I have NAS drives long before my NAS Station!
