sorry guys forgot to mention this... I believe the WD blue model is not SMR it's CMR which is good ! .. but double check the model number against the link I provided above just to be on the safe side in case I'm wrong...
Might want to avoid the barracuda (and OP no offense intended thanks for posting this ! ... ) see
cripes I can't seem to get it all into one single comment can I? .. 5400 rpm has been in my experience just fine if you're using it for storage.. that is as a secondary hard drive to put files on ... for the " C " drive that you install windows and/or programs in general on get a SSD drive, those are crazy cheap on black friday ..

5200 rpm, no thanks!
With a 256mb buffer size it really doesn't matter anymore those 5200rpm drives perform pretty well. Besides people don't buy 4TB hard drives for peformance but for storage because nothing beats NVME Hard Drives these days.
The fact that you have to do work to tell, is shady.
But, they are labeled as desktop and a desktop will work fine with these, but I wouldn't ever use them as a system drive. Low rpm, SMR overhead, you're never going to boot. Plus, you should already be using a SSD anyway to boot from.
Single drive Storage, these will be fine. RAID. hard no.
In fact, you shouldn't be using raid anymore. Should be using a XFS alternative. Google bitrot.

This is a really good price peformance deal.
Also Amazon [amazon.com] has it for the same price of %59.99
