Having issues right now with HP's restocking fee. Laptops arrived damaged (or defective from production - hard to say) but I would note that they didn't ship the laptop boxes in any outer boxes which meant being tossed around in shipping could really abuse them. So, for sending me non-working units, HP is trying to charge me a fee.

That Optane option gives you Intel H10 SSD which is essentially a lower edn DRM Less QLC SSD Intel 660p with 32GB Optane Cache built-in and it performs worse than the normal TLC SSD it comes with.

Best 3070 deal since the L5P 3070,

Keep in mind that scummy HP charges restocking fee and shipping is in the air, they're most known for pushing back units. With that being said, price is incredible

This unit has some metal construction and superb thermals, maximum performance

I am considering getting this and returning the Zephyrus G15 from Best Buy?

The G15 has been a great gaming laptop and part time miner.

Does anyone have more experience with how this one performs (mainly warzone gaming and part time mining)?

Why is it that you can get a QHD only with a 3070, but if you want a 3080 you can only have 4K or FHD, who the F made these decisions!

4k is wasted on a 17 inch screen imo. Hell I have 3 27 inch 1440p monitors on my gaming rig and they're still sharp af.

I want to know this too. I dont trust HP, There are terrible hp laptops ok laptops and great laptops. Its a gamble with them. I have an Asus laptop. I just bought an Asus G15.

I don't trust HP either, but also don't trust Dell so I'm struggling to make a decision today haha. There seem to be some similarly specced Alienware m15 models with as good or better net price. 15% cashback through my site of choice today, plus 10% Amex offer I happened to get on my Biz Plat card, plus 10% off for financing a portion with my Dell Preferred Account.

The best similarly specced Legion 5i Pro I've found though is about $250 more than my final cost on the Alienware, so I guess it's between this HP and Alienware for me. Not sure which one to trust more in terms of on-time shipping, return policy, etc. Guessing they'll both suck so probably will just go with the cheaper option (Alienware in my case).

Yes... I agree with you both that every manufacturer can produce machines that are: terrible, OK, and great.

I love the G15 I purchased, but I am still withing the return window with Best Buy (and I'm not too attached to it yet).

I'm playing QHD warzone at about 100FPS, and part time mining with about 48/mhs with the G15.

Does anyone have similar (performance) experience with this Omen laptop?
