I had a recent warranty claim that went very smoothly. I bought an EGO hedge trimmer from Acme earlier this year with a battery and charger. The battery was wonky right out of the box. Wasn't the trimmer b/c it worked fine with other known-good batteries, while other tools similarly failed with the same refurb battery after ~30-60 seconds of operation. I called support, went through a few troubleshooting steps, and they then sent me a brand new replacement (still in the plastic retail packaging). It took an extra week or so to get to me because it was on backorder at the time. Overall, I'm very happy with the service I received and I had zero issues going through EGO for the refurb tool -- though, I should say that I do register all of my devices on EGO's website and upload proof of purchase right away, which seemed to expedite the process here.

Thanks, managed to get a mower. It shows that you still get 12 months factory warranty and that it's factory certified. Anybody have experience with warranty claims on reconditioned stuff from Acme?

For comparison, the EGO factory warranty on new products is 5 years on the tools and 3 years on the battery.

Whats the best route to go for getting additional batteries? Would love to have another 7.5 or 5 for leaves in the fall.
EGO Batteries are VERY expensive to buy separately, unfortunately. My battery strategy is to never buy a separate tool without a battery because the batteries are much less expensive when bought as part of a combo. I recently saw that Amazon had some knockoff batteries at 1/2-2/3 the price of the genuine EGO batteries -- I also came across a few sites online offering rebuild services at around 1/3-1/2 the cost of a new genuine battery -- so there may be other options out there.
OEM Battery is insanely expensive. Expect battery to last not more than 4 years of lucky. Even if the price drops, be prepared to pay about $150. This has only 12 months warranty compared to 5/3 years warranty for a new one at Lowes.
