I've used the Shure MV7 as well as the Blue Yeti mics. I consider those two to be the best "non professional level" mics. They are excellent overall without going into the $400 range for a mic. Of the two, the Shure MV7 is the better one IMO. It has a better way to filter out background sounds and just focus on your voice.

Normally these go for about $239, currently discounted to $219, which is a pretty good deal. The $175 price point is an absolute steal, provided you like the silver color one. If you (or whoever you're buying it for) is really set on the black color, then plunk down the extra $40, but to me it's not worth it for the color.

If you're looking for something to buy for a teenager, husband or whatever that does a lot of PC gaming and talking on discord and so forth, or someone who likes to stream on twitch etc, this is an absolute surefire hit.

Thanks OP for for finding!

The MV7 "focuses" on you more because it is a dynamic mic and not a condenser mic like the Blue Yeti. In an isolated environment the condenser probably sounds better but for most people a dynamic mic would be better since they tend to have little control over ambient background noises.

I have had this for a month now. It has both USB and XLR connections. USB works perfectly with PC and my Android phone. App is nicely designed and helpful. At this price, is a very good deal!
PS: I am not a pro., but teach from home everyday. It's nice to finally be understood well due to better audio.

I just bought this and am going to turn for this price. But one thing I noticed is that I sound so far. Is there particular settings you all are rocking?

This is great for anyone who wants great sound quality in calls. I bought this a year ago at msrp and I love it.

Micro USB... In my experience micro is very unreliable. I would pay a premium for usb-c
Yeah I agree. This is such a good mic but that annoys me and makes me think corners were cut that we done know since they seemed to cut costs on the connector

I think this is overkill for that. Recently started went back to college, class is all zoom, several voice recorded presentations as well, the blue yeti snowball ice I got on sale for $30, msrp is $50 I think- quality has been fantastic. To the point where I think for zoom I don't think any further improvement is worth the > 100 $ difference

What's the difference between the mv7 and mv7x? Can I use an xlr to 3.5mm cable and plug directly into a computer mic jack? Will anything be lost if I do it that way?

Nice. Grabbed an open box for $125. Only packaging blemishes

I run a HyperX Quadcast and would highly recommend the jump to a dedicated microphone for Zoom calls.
