Check the reviews on the Newegg product page, looks like XMP is needed for this memory to be able to run as intended. Sounds like a lot of laptops don't support XMP and then this memory only runs at 2666MHz. And the 1.35V vs 1.2V should adversely affect battery life. In my opinion, the CT2K16G4SFRA32A deal from yesterday works better, 1.2V and 3200MHz in standard laptops, just hoping those modules will be Dual Rank.

Jumped on that CT2K16G4SFRA32A deal yesterday, got it same day and already installed. Better timings than the stock RAM on my g15 advantage.
I got the single because the dual was oos. All things being equal I would have gotten dual, but my guess is it would have been a pretty minimal difference.

Apparently CT2K16G4SFRA32A can be Single or Dual Rank, depending on what they had available at manufacture time, I guess. The CT2K16G4SFD832A is supposed to always be Dual Rank.

Interesting. What I bought didn't actually say, but I just assumed it was single. There is a separate option for the dual rank (that was what was oos) which I guess is the D832A.

Mine is dual rank btw. I just realized this explains why the physical appearance didn't match up with my expectation. I didn't consider it might actually be dual rank, I just assumed I didn't know as much about RAM as I thought I did.

If a laptop does not support XMP, it won't boot with 2 sticks, only one stick works.

I have same laptop and bought the same ram yesterday. Amazon delivered at 6am this morning, popped it in and seems great so far. How can you tell if dual rank and what is best benchmarks to test performance?

For timings check this video https://youtu.be/8XCeAdFqsKg. My timings for stock vs new matched up with the ones Jarrod posted in the video. I used ZenTimings to check.
I didn't realize this when I installed mine but the sticker on the RAM should have a 1Rx(RAM size) or 2Rx(RAM size) to indicate single vs dual rank.

i think there are 2 model #s
CT2K16G4SFRA32A
CT2K16G4SFDA32A
I think the R in the model# denotes single rank and the D represents the dual rank.
