This is good deal on a solid entry level burr grinder. Baratza has great support that helped me put a timer switch on my Encore like the Maestro Plus and Virtuoso have. Next upgrade is the M2 burr after my stock ones wear out.

Higher end grinders will have more consistency of grind size. Ideally, you want all grinds exactly the same size so they all extract evenly and you don't get over or under extracted grinds. Burr grinders are huge step up from blade grinders which bash the beans into random sized fragments.

I've been waiting for a refurbished Encore to appear on the Baratza website. Given the recent increase in the price of a new Encore, I might have paid more than this for a refurb, so I'm happy to be able to buy a new item for this price. Thanks.

In for one. Been waiting for the price drop. I broke my other one, when somehow a screw got stuck in the my old one, I think it came out of a Costco bag of beans. If anyone knows how to fix these and is in the tristate area, let me know, I'll let you have it cheap.

This is a pretty good deal. With the refurb consistently at $99, getting it at $112 before tax for a new unit is indeed good. Hope they don't cancel the orders! OP, does $119.83 price include tax? I think the price provided on these listings is before tax as not everyone would pay tax and it may not also be same rate?

Excellent grinder. Got it early in the year and it's been fantastic. Make sure to do a routine cleaning by the instructions or you'll freak out when it doesn't run (clogged).

Excellent filter grinder. Not for espresso though. I've owned this for 10 years and it's still going strong.

Why don't you email Baratza and ask how to fix it? It is extremely repairable. Probably you can get it running again with $50 parts.

Thanks! I've been on the lookout for a grinder to replace the cheap spinning blade I've been making due with and heard good things about this one. Looks like a good price.

If you want this, get it right away. I know Kyle and Kyra at Baratza, and they will use their MAP policy to have the coupon removed. Most resellers would not want to discount the Encore anyway because the cost of shipping already eats into the margin.

ours is 2 yrs old and still great. Had 1 clog I had to disassemble to clear out - was pretty easy to do.
