Go as far as checkout to verify, but it gives discount and gift card credit immediately typically. You can delete your trade-in from the manage trade-ins page if you don't complete the checkout.
I backed out after reading the neg reviews about it not hearing the wake command as well as earlier version 3 which I use now.

Yes I heard that 4th gen is not as good as the previous which I got for free with the Amazon music.

Target.com is advertising this as $35, but it is advertised as $25 instore. There are signs/tags showing $25 (for the $59.99 gray version, not the $49.99 version, I checked). The ones with the animal patterns are $35.
