My bad. The url got copied for 65".updated the right link.
Lol.. i didn't want a 65" for the bedroom but said fk it...$699 for 65u8g?? DONE!
Typo it's 899 at PC Richard
Huh? It's not 699 for 65"
I was leaning towards something at Costco for warranty.
I need a TV in the bedroom (Chromecast and spare PS5) but I would like to get a few years out of the TV.
My LG OLED had to have it's panel replaced about 8 months in and not long after my warranty expired, the panel has distorted colors on the edges.
I have a once top-of-the-line 4K LED Samsung that has been problem free 5 years and now it only has some bright LEDs along the edges.
My parent's Sony 1080p LCDs amazingly are problem free 10+ years.

Every manufacturer will have issues - some more than others, some models more than others.
Qn90a for Samsung is notorious for dirty screen effect (DSE), banding, and poor uniformity - it's a well documented issue across the internet.
Sony a90j also has issues with blooming and banding as well.
That being said HiSense has more QC issues than most manufacturers, that's just a plain fact.
You can off set that by buying a warranty from Amazon.
But be aware if you are looking at the 55 vs the 65 U8G you are NOT buying the same television just 10 inches smaller.
The 55" U8G has half the local dimming zones as the 65" - meaning all those glowing reviews about how bright the U8G is and how it rivals the best QLED on the market - do not apply.
There was also the well documented issue of ghosting/red ghosting esp with fast moving content - movies, sports, gaming. This issue was fixed for the 65" U8G but since the 55" has a different SOC, HiSense was unable to figure out a firmware fix (as of now)
So if you are going for the U8G id recommend getting the 65" and buying the extended warranty from Amazon for $90.
If you add the 4 year warranty from Amazon for this U8G you are basically paying $800.
For $200 more you can get the Sony a90J, which on the spec sheet is worse than the U8G (at least the 65" inch models head to head) but at least you are going with Sony who has a long history of better motion handling / motion processing than any manufacturer while also getting 5 years of warranty from Costco.
Every 2021 TV has some kind of big compromise/negative that's why many are saying wait until 2022 to see if anything is better but waiting sucks so Id weigh the Pros and Cons and go from there.

If Amazon matches two other online retailers with the 65U8G for $900, you are potentially getting it for $800 with the 10% cast back. You can get a 4 year warranty for about $100 from Upsi
