Are these Energizer batteries Low Self Discharge? Nothing on the packaging seems to indicate that.

Picked up two. Great price! Paid nearly the same price for 4xAA and 4xAAA LADDA batteries without a charger. The batteries are labeled made in Japan and are closer to the size/fit of the Eneloop batteries. Which might be important to some people that have devices with smaller tolerances. LADDA batteries are snug in some of my devices, just enough to matter.

For reference I have these three. Use them in flashlights during walks. Really, I don't know if there is a meaningful difference between them all, especially for my use case. What I have read is that regular Eneloop have a slower natural discharge rate, so they will last longer for some devices… like a temperature monitor. Otherwise for other things, seems like a Japanese manufactured rechargeable battery is good enough!
I recently (3 months ago) bought the white LADDA batteries in AA and AAA as they were being phased out for the grey colored. I was super excited to get these home to try them but they don't hold a charge for crap! Did they just go bad from sitting on the shelves too long? They seem to charge fine and no indication of rejection from the charger but it was such a let down.

Just as hot as eneloop charger, mine is made by Futjisu who I believe owns eneloop thing. Old Sango charger never get hot, but takes forever to charge, well more than 5 hours.

If you camp, this slow charge, sometimes takes 10 hours can be painful as snakes, especially those with high venum will not wait for you. It's critical that you have reliable lighting, unless you're one of those city dweller who pays money to camp, or one of those types whining not having an air conditioner.

Any noticeable difference in performance compared to Eneloop batteries?
Can't comment on these, but enloops have been incredible for me.

Wirecutter review says these aren't bad- what's the verdict? There are a bunch of these at my store in NC.

+1 on the what's the verdict. It seems that Eneloops are way way better but is this a deal considering what you're getting for $13?

I picked up a package from Costco and use my Maha MH-C9000 to discharge the batteries before doing a full break-in. I was able to get about 1600 mAh from each AA battery, which is about 70%. Similar results were obtained for those 4 AAA batteries. Considering non-LSD NiMH battery will self-discharge about 1% every day, and somebody mentioned that Eneloop shipped outside Japan will be pre-charged to ~70%, there are two possibilities:

- They are non-LSD NiMH batteries and it only took about 30 days to finish the trip from manufacturing plant to my shopping cart.
- They are LSD batteries, i.e., rebadged Eneloops.

Considering current supply chain issue, I would prefer the second possibility. Anyway, I am going to use it for xbox controllers and charge them on daily basis, so holding charge or not is not a big issue for me.

Its humorous to see Energizer being sold at Costco, however only Rechargeable are on the shelf. I wonder if Sam's Club will sell the equivalent in Duracell brand.

Yes, both club offers Duracell rechargeable, for ages.
In my view, non of the NiMH rechargeables offer any merits unless it's heavily marked down.
It made sense in last century, Sanyo briefly rejuvenized this dry cell business, but it's old and outdated technology, I do my best avoiding any electronics using these old battery types.
To me, it's a lot cost effective if I use 48-pack batteries normally sold for $10. 48-pack normally lasts me good five years.

wait till you encounter someone constantly whining, someone who reallyy should stay home and enjoy comfort of modern life..
sometimes, listening to whining drives you mad.
In America, we whine a lot... yet no one really is interesed in personal life of stranger unless you want to stick that male thing under their pants. American hypocracy at its core.

Response like this is unpleasant, would rather have in private, and perhaps I can make you be polite, as you don't appear to have any parent raised you to behave in civilized manner.

Yes, I bought both the Eneloop and the Energizer rechargeable batteries about 5 years ago to use in Xbox controllers. The Enelops still work and all the Energizers seem to die quickly and some dead.
I know that is not a great comparison and some may argue that was batteries 5 years ago, things have changed, depends on how you used them, etc...but that is my limited observation. Any others want to weigh in?
Are those energizers made in china
