Re: upgradability, ironically the less expensive ones are generally more upgradable. But generally Dell Inspirons are quite upgradable - AFAIK only the 13-inch 5000 and 7000 series, and the 14-inch 7000 clamshell have non-upgradable RAM, and all the other models have upgradable RAM, SSD, and wifi/BT.

I have the same Inspiron 5410, and it is my travel computer. For the price, it is actually rather good. It has a nice aluminum (I think) shell that takes the abuse (to a point). Its weakness is the 250nits screen, but this Vostro's isn't any better, either.

I bought a Vostro 5410. (But in dark gray.)

It has a 300 Nits screen and an aluminum chassis- way better than plastic and 250 Nits.

The Black Friday pricing is now dead but for reference can I ask- was this Inspiron 14 quad core i3 sold by Dell $449?

I had purchased the 15 inch 10th gen i5 instead for $399 so I don't remember looking at the14 inch i3 quad core pricing.
