There's a reason why these are on sale: They're obsolete.

I bought the USB one in 2016 for less and even then it was not new to the market. Can't understand why NewEgg thinks it's a deal.

Thunderbold hubs are not the same thing as those cheap USB hubs. The main difference is that Thunderbolt is a hard line to your mother board, which requires expensive certification approval but in return offers you full functionality of all ports. Your run of the mill USB hub is splitting the bandwidth and power of 1 port to X ports, just try to run like a webcam and an external HD on a hub and they won't both work where as on Thunderbolt, it's as if all the ports are native to your device. This is why those devices cost $150-$500 and a USB hub is $10-$50, so yes these are a great deal.

PS: only 2 of the 4 devices are Thunderbolt, so read carefully

It's not obsolete unless your life's work depends on the ability to transfer a gigabyte of data per second.

How many of us with laptops support USB3.1 or 3.2 or Thunderbolt?? Most of us don't buy new laptops every year.. so it's not obsolete..

I bought the dual display, 65W PD dock in June for $178.99. It's fantastic for plugging my dual 27" Samsung monitors to the work laptop via HDMI (I run the DP cables to my desktop). I love the fact that two monitors, power, mouse and keyboard can all go to the laptop with only one USB-C cable.

I wish it had a couple more USB ports but when I was shopping over the summer, dual 4K monitors in a dock with 2x HDMI and 2x DP and PD were hard to come by. Guess it's overkill because my monitors max out at 1440P.

I'm actually looking for something like this, I have a hackintosh laptop that doesn't have any display-out ports that work in macOS. What's the cheapest USB/USB-C dock that uses DisplayLink?

Wavlink support sucks.

I bought a usbc dock last year and some of the ports are finnicky. They told me to get in touch with the seller on amazon, seller diasppeared. wavlink says "hope we helped you" and then ghosted me.

Majority of people are on 1080p. Minority of people as are 3.1 or Thunderbolt. Hell, there's still tons of devices still using micro USB..

Obviously haven't seen what Newegg has become in the last 10 years then.
