But the $70/month for basic unlimited plan is the deal breaker. I pay $25/month for unlimited with Visible on Verizon's network. So I'd be paying $45 more a month for 30 months for phone service. That's $1350 more, which negates the phone discount by quite a bit.
Might be a good deal for someone who already stomach's the painful cost of the Verizon plan. Not for me.

Do you know if the trade-in phone has to be a Verizon phone?
UPDATE: I did cancel my pre-order of the 256GB Cloudy White 6 Pro, which was supposed to ship Dec 10. I bought a cracked-screen S9 on eBay for $80 and was able to use this promo to get $640 off the 512GB black 6 Pro. Ship date is supposed to be Jan 6. Thanks OP!!!
FYI, I did buy a Verizon S9 for trade-in, but the trade-in page on Verizon allows you to choose other carriers, so it looks like maybe you can trade in phones from other carriers? I also had the seller email me the IMEI number after I bought the s9, so I did not have to wait for it to arrive before ordering my 6 Pro.

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to be sure before I cancel my pre-order and reorder. Thanks!!
Oh, and which variant of Pixel did you order? And do you have an estimated delivery date yet? I pre-ordered a 256gb 6 Pro in Cloudy white on release date (Oct 20), and my first ETA was Nov 23, but on the 24th my shipping date was pushed back to Dec 10.

Ordered 128gb 6 Pros in various colors and it had said backordered until Dec but 2 of them already shipped.

I just received shipping confirmation last night on the Pixel 5a from the $399 unlocked deal earlier in the week, which comes to about $16 per month I think. Seeing this deal now, I just went to see what I could get for my monthly payment when trading in my Pixel 3 and it shows $15 per month, $1 less per month than my 5a.
With that said, there seems to be quite a few complaints about the Pixel 6 bugs, which I'm sure is typical of a brand new phones and will probably be fixed shortly, as well as the lack of a fingerprint reader like previous Pixel phones.

Removed the trade in via clicking "skip" and was chatting with a CSR to find out if I could place the order and trade in the other phone later. She said yes and I was clicking through to see what the total was and I accidently placed the order with only the $200 in credits over 24 months, no trade in discount. I went back to the trade in page and input the phone make/model, it said I only would get $35.
Went to my local Verizon store, they said no need to try to cancel the order - wait until the new phone arrives, and then try initiating the upgrade. If it doesn't show the $440, call the customer service 1-800 number and ask them to fill out a trade in form with the promotion amount, say that the automated trade in tool did not come through with the correct value. Well being the impatient type that I am, I requested the IMEI from the seller and they sent it right away. Plugged it into the trade-in section of Verizon's website even with the details of a cracked screen, sure enough it came up with $440 value - and also an option to request that amount in a one-time statement credit or paypal.
Thanks for posting this, OP!
Edit: This worked on the Pixel 6 256gb version, and I already had two lines on the Verizon Start Unlimited plan.
