I bought it 2 years ago and regret it. I keep it around for a backup.

I got one of the previous $13 deals and set it up on my router (fresh tomato open firmware)
Using the provided settings I got a lot of disconnects, so I had to change what they sugest putting in the custom configuration section of the settings.

If you want to avoid disconnects with this VPN on a router, use these settings in your custom configuration:

auth-nocache
nobind
persist-tun
persist-key
remote-random
remote-cert-tls server
route-metric 1
auth sha512
keysize 256

#mssfix 1430

reneg-sec 14400
resolv-retry infinite
keepalive 30 120

tun-mtu 1500

All the rest of their settings are fine.
It's not super fast, and they only have 3 or 4 torrent supporting servers. But it works.
Lifetime for $13 is ok in my book.

I have this. Devices includes different browsers on same computer. And sometimes it will even register the same browser more than once. You can only remove 1 device a week. So annoying

This is only an issue if you're a criminal. For most people who just want basic privacy from public routers and ISPs, this VPN is enough.

$59.76 for 28 months so it's $2.13/mo for Surfshark:

I bought Windscribe's lifetime plan, which is slow as hell especially for Japan. Anybody can comment on Surfshark in terms of speed? I am considering getting another VPN with decent speed for foreign servers.
Get ProtonVPN or NordVPN.

Thanks, but the table rated Windscribe's speed as a 5, which I find very suspicious.

This product is not free.
And? They also said "almost free", which this is when you compare it to reputable VPNs.

I use Surfshark. I get 90-95% of the speed I get with my VPN off, which is about the most you can get with a VPN. Very happy with it, it has a ridiculous amount of locations, and it's not a part of the 14 eyes. Never been happier with a VPN.
Yet they are anti free speech in their latest Twitter incident a few months ago. Therefore off my plate unfortunately as far as free speech and privacy goes. Used them for 2 years without major issues though.

Are these things reliable? We had Time Warner Cable a couple of years back, and when I downloaded an episode of a TV show, they shut off our internet access, which also turned off our home telephone line. (Obihai, Google Voice) Now I'm paranoid about them watching me ........

I paid $16 about three years ago for this deal. I only use it as a backup to Windscribe, which I have premium for, but it does allow me to unlock geo locked content for streaming within the US -- so that's really all I use it for. Interestingly I can't get Windscribe to work well with the TBS app so this has become my go-to for that. I saw someone mention here once that "lifetime" probably only means until they sell out to another company that decides not to honor previous lifetime deals but I feel I've gotten three years of use out of it as a backup VPN.

How does this compare to fastest vpn that also has a deal going on now?
FastestVPN is an annual POS deal. Had it for 5 years and still would prefer a refund. Slow, hardly ever connects, software rarely updated. 1gig fiberoptic speeds slow to a dial-up crawl (if it even works at all).

This VPN logs a lot of information. There is a way to export your data into Excel from your own profile. The data that they capture makes it very easy to identify what you are doing online. Hopefully none of you have done anything too bad else you may be getting someone knocking at your front door.

Yes it is. I used it to get cheap YouTube premium. They have India too.

I been using this VPN for over 2 years. Has always worked. No complaints. They have streaming VPN also.
How much is the Argentina YouTube premium converted to USD ?
