Pretty crazy there were no joycon deals for $59.99 this year like the past few.

Also crazy that Nintendo is somehow allowed to continue selling the exact same design after years of proven reliability issues and lawsuits.

I think it's because they will fix them for free.

Around me, that means sending your joycon off to some numbnuts cell phone repair place where they often just replace with a used joycon in worse condition, or strip screws when working on things.

Can't believe my previous comment actually had a thumbs down. Apparently someone likes Nintendo's broken design?

Not here to trash Nintendo or this thread, by the way. I purchase lots of new Nintendo stuff, including their barely upgraded OLED. Just pointing out that for $69, you will be purchasing the same broken 2017 design.

Oh bummer! We sent one in and it was replaced/repaired quickly and looked brand new. Folks with downvote anything. No worries, this really should be $49 for Black Friday. But I guess the chip shortage affected joycons too?

Not saying your concerns aren't valid ones, especially if that happened to you, but for what it's worth that wasn't my experience. I submitted 2 pairs of Joy-Cons for repair and was directed to send them to what I assume is another company that Nintendo contracts to do the work (I believe they were called United Radio located in upstate NY) and they did a good job fixing the sticks and the turn around time was reasonably expedient. They could have been more detailed in the service order explaining exactly what was done and what parts were replaced but that's really the only quibble I could have in my case.

Nice! Glad to hear that you had a good experience at least. I would be curious to hear from anyone who had to send in limited edition, or uncommon color scheme joycon. Nintendo's own fine print says that you may receive a different color in return, which in my opinion, should be illegal.

Thanks OP. I went to Target and had them price match, minus 5% red card, so $65.55 plus tax.

Incredible they can maintain this price, I guess people keep buying them. I remember getting refurb Wii U controllers for like $15 and they look like a more complicated device.

Only illegal? I think they should be executed. People like you really need to chill. I mean, I didn't like that statement in the fine print either, but it's clearly because they can't guarantee they'll have rarer editions of the joycon in hand to ship back.

I only wish they'd let opt out from replacement if they can't give you the same color. I recently sent in a neon pink one and they can only guarantee they have grey and neon blue/red. I was worried they're not going to send me a pink one back, but they did send me the same joycon I sent after they replaced the thumbstick.

Spoiler alert, all 3 companies use the same analog sticks so they all eventually get stick drift. Same cheap design that eventually grinds large grooves into the track inside an analog stick that causes them not to return to center.

Same cheap stick has been found on anything from Joy Cons to Dualsense to Elite controllers. Controllers that once lasted most of a console's life cycle only last about 1-2 years of even moderate use.

Anyone think there will be better deals towards Christmas? Picked up a switch for the kids and want to get some remotes to kick their butts in some games 🤣

no idea... though... unless you want motion controls, (specifically for Mario Party? Mario tennis? Just Dance? or some fitness type game?) I'd suggest looking on gamestop or amazon for 3rd party 'pro' controllers.

There's plenty for $10-$30, depending on how fragile/useful they are. And generally it's nicer to have a "real" controller when playing normal games.

Yeah the kiddo's like the motion games, ordered all of those you mentioned above. I guess I can always order now and return/repurchase if it goes down by Christmas. Thanks!
