I've read that Skilsaw = good, pro-grade, while Skil = bad DIY grade. Can anyone speak to this?

Just an FYI for anyone considering the saw, this saw has been the subject of previous deal posts (at a higher price). Do a quick search and you will find lengthy conversations which include positive comparisons to other saws and discussions of how Skil has significantly improved their quality in recent product offerings (like this one).

Most people just make a custom plate for their dado stack. SKIL wouldn't be able to make one that matches everyone's different dado stack brands or configs.

I own the table with the worm drive; it was worth it for me, but I get a lot of use out of a tablesaw. For a jobsite saw, I do not personally believe there is a better saw than the Skil with a worm drive. Pretty much everything about it is very thoughtfully designed, including the optional stand which I also have. I have not looked closely at the saw in this listing, it is entirely possible that except for the worm drive it is as nice as the other, I could not say. One of the main advantages of the worm drive is being able to cut a bit deeper; I can rip cut 4x4s, no problem. It is also a little quieter, but not significantly so. I think it cuts smoother as well, but that is fairly subjective.

Reviews are saying it takes a dado stack but skil didn't think to make a plate for it so it really doesn't take a dado stack.

I have this saw. I got it last year. I love it. Easy to use and store. The fence is awesome. This is a great deal. I paid $320 a year ago. IF you have the money or need this, then this is a no brainer.

The Dewalt is a better built saw.
The fence pinion gear as well as the gears to raise and lower the blade on the Dewalt are metal vs plastic on this Skil.
The throat plate on the Dewalt is metal vs plastic on the Skil and some say it affects accuracy.
Replacement parts seam to be an issue obtaining for the Skil vs the Dewalt.

Unless you need the extra features of a 10" blade, its a toss up whether this is a better deal than you got for the Dewalt.

I've been researching table saws for the past month and was considering this one, but based on reviews it's got a lot of plastic parts that break and you can't get replacement parts. The price is tempting though.

Depends on your use. I'm probably gonna pull the trigger on the big one cos I want something that's easier to move up and down stairs (I move my saw from the basement to the garage about 4~5 times a year and don't the Bosch gravity rise stand doesn't work for that.

I bought this earlier this year when I bought a house. Have only used it a handful of times but no issues. Built in legs are very handy
