Best price I have ever seen, I bought this 2 years ago from acme tools for $499 and they charged $50 for shipping. Great deal! Great table saw.

Might be worth mentioning in the title that it's a worm drive table saw, since that's arguably its most distinctive feature.

Just bought! It's on sale for only an hour or two. It was about $488 w/ tax and free prime shipping. Thank you for posting. I have been waiting a long time for this saw to go on sale. 🙂

That doesnt seem like that would make much of a difference on a table saw like it would on a circular saw. Is there an advantage wit the worm drive on a table saw?

Cool. Was looking for a good table saw to install some plank flooring with. I like you can split payment over 5 months.

Worm drive gives you a bit more clearance and therefore, a deeper cut You can rip a 4 x 4 on this saw. Depth of cut is 3-5/8"

This. Unless you don't plan to move the saw ever. Those 16" wheels will go over anything with ease.

I have had this saw over a year, it cuts like butter; love that I can cut a 4x4, rack and pinion fence is awesome, just over 30 inch rip capacity has come in handy multiple times for my projects, the stand is great and easy to move around (though I have plans to build it into a work table). Very happy I purchased this over the DeWalt and Bosch saws I was looking at at the time.

This worm drive is better. Way quieter.

My friend has this table saw, and it seems a lot quieter than the DeWalt 10" table saw, I think due to the worm drive.

I mean, it's the whole justification for this saw's cost, and the entire focus of how it's marketed. If worm drive didn't matter, the extra $200 on this vs. the $250 SKIL table saw deal would just be a waste.

People are willing to pay more because it promises better performance. Usually worm drive delivers better torque (better able to handle high-stress crosscuts and hardwoods than standard direct-drive) and cutting capacity (this saw has 3.625" DOC, so it can handle 4X stock). It also weighs (52.9lbs vs 90 lbs) and costs ($450 vs $600) less than its logical Dewalt competitor, the DWE7491RS).

I've had this for a couple years. I wish I had more reasons to use it. I might make a project just to fire it up. It's been great.
