Help me with Router looking to upgrade and really don't think I need much. Currently running an old Netgear R8500 5300. It's in the center of my 2,000 sq foot home. My internet is 500/10. I don't upgrade to 1gb/30 cause my cox has always had issues and I don't get the speed I pay for half the time. Anyway I think I'm a power user. I have 9 wyze camera the 2 at the edge of the how sometimes have a hard time connecting. I have hue bridge with about 12 bulbs and smartthings with about 30 devices on that. Garage door wireless. 2 computers a couple dish boxers, receiver, 2 phones a couple tvs a google and alex in ever room.

Anyway it's going on 4 years old and I'm starting to have drops. Looking to get one soon. I don't want to overkill but also what to get something that can handle all my devices. I would like tri-band is that is what I have now can I can keep everything on the same SSID I hope. Suggestions?

This one would be a good fit. It allows you to use single SSID and have the router pick a frequency/band for your devices automatically.

Great deal, $75 cheaper than the Costco deal, I think the only difference is reconditioned vs new.

But then I would have to change the SSID on some of my devices correct

Oh I see what you mean. Yes you can keep old SSIDs and use them on the new router.

Get eero. Don't look back. I've been through so many different mesh network devices. Eero just works.

My older Orbi is a refurb and it has worked flawlessly for years. Nice thing about these are the wired ports on the router and the satellites. Gives you options where many of the others skimp on them.

Which ones? I tried orbi and I could not get setup. The app kept looping. It sucked. Taking back to Costco. I'm really waiting for Google to do wifi6, but nothing seems to be in the horizon

Skip the app and use the web interface to finish setup. Then you can switch back to the app for management after setup is complete.

If you have multiple SSID, you would have to choose to keep only one and make sure the one you're keeping doesn't have any special characters in it, like an apostrophe, something I learned when setting up a friend's Orbi kit. Otherwise, this is a solid buy and would highly recommend.
