The Bosch Router Edge Guide is back on sale. And it includes the "$_ _ of if you buy $_ _ _ " promo.

if you recently got one of the awesome deals on the Bosch Routers, then this tool is a must have. It's the Best Edge Guide I've ever found that was made by a Tool Brand.

Protip: Wanting to run dadoes in a piece, but it's too far from the edge to use this? Well, the rods are 8mm and two, 8mm linear rods can be used in it, and the router bases, to provide any length you might need. I did this with my MFT Tabletops and I've seen people do this with 3/4" mortising bits to make dogholes in their bench.

So hop on it, an

For some reason, it's not letting me edit my post so I apologize for grahmers. lol.

If you buy this and the 1617EVSPK kit, it comes out to $156.99 pre-tax. Smilie
Depends entirely on what you plan to do. Some router work is best done on a table and vice versa. Many woodworkers have both set-ups as neither one can do everything (safely).

I 100% recommend the Bosch 1617 for both hand-held and table mounted use. Keep in mind, if you mount to the table you'll likely want a second router for hand-held use. At some point that is... I'm not suggesting you need to run out and buy both straight away. That's all need / project dependent.

Does anyone know if this guide would work with a Dewalt cordless router?

Fwiw one of the comments mentioned the ryobi trim router being a different spacing so it wouldn't work. I was looking for myself as well but seems it won't work.

FYI in case some wonder what this will fit. I have this guide. The rod diameter is .373" (will fit in 3/8" holes) and the spacing between rods is 100mm center to center. I tried this in the Dewalt 616 (same base as 618) and it fit a bit loose but will definitely work.

New to routers and woodworking, would I be better off with this or setting up a router table insert for tablesaw I picked up? (on ridgid HD clearance deal)

Recommendations on what kind of router? Seeing 1617EVSPK someone recommended I was looking at but doesn't have tilt base, not sure how needed that is. Thanks

Check the questions search on the Amazon listing. Seems that people have had good luck with the Dewalt and this but you may find more info specific to your Dewalt model on the listing ?

I'm also new but wound up getting the kreg plunger saw with the track (you'll need these anyway at some point) and people on Etsy make 3D printed adapters that allow you to attach many different routers to your track. Super simple and 30 bucks for the piece.

So I bought recently at $43. I hear Amazon isn't nice about refunding the difference in cases like this... only option to take advantage of the sale would be a return and re-purchase?

Yep.. I do it all the time when they lower their prices like this.

Buy the lower priced one. Enter the old one as a return. And when the new one comes, just send the new one back to get a credit for the price of the old one you paid more for.

It seem compatible with the corded Dewalt router basing from the reviews but I don't see anyone saying compatibility with the cordless DCW600. Can anyone confirm this?
